12 yearsI advise steering clear of this company! They've been pestering me with calls four times daily, and it's quite infuriating. Not impressed at all!12 yearsI heard that Karen Davies runs this place, and her brother's behind IDC, which I've heard is a scam as well. It's mind-boggling how they all manage to live with themselves. Plus, her son Marcus Davies works there as the manager!Caren DaviesIDCMarcus Davies12 yearsAvoid Duncan Regentassociates Ltd at all costs. Ricky tries to convince you they’re experts at slashing rates for your business, claiming success with others nearby, but it’s all a load of rubbish. They promise you won’t be charged unless they get results, but all they do is fill out a basic form - something anyone could do. Once the form is accepted, whatever nonsense they put down, they hit you with an outrageous fee, which seems to vary depending on how eager they are to rope you in. Honestly, don’t fall for their scam. Stay clear of these con artists!RickyDUNCAN REGENTASSOCIATES Ltd13 yearsI’ve fallen victim to these slick callers as well. After getting no proper help from the company, only voice messages every time I rang, I decided to check out their office since it’s not far from where I live in Bolton. Their office is tucked away in a big building with loads of different businesses, right on one of Bolton’s main streets. There’s an intercom to get in, but they never answer it. Down a side alley, there’s an automatic gate to a car park. I happened to be there just as the lunch break ended and saw a bunch of fancy cars pulling back in. Can’t say for sure if they belong to Duncan Regents staff, given the building’s multi-tenant nature, but it did make me think. Seems the company’s now in liquidation and rebranded under a new name, likely still working out of the same spot. Found this out from a letter denying my appeal. My advice? Avoid any cold calls that claim they can cut your bills - it’s a trap!BoltonDuncan RegentsSTAYAWAYCOLD13 yearsWARNING!! speaking from my own experience here... so I got a call saying I might be entitled to a Business Rate refund because I’d apparently overpaid over the last few years. They charged me over £300 for their 'service'. They did lodge an appeal with the Valuation Office Agency and I even received a couple of letters from them about it. Then, after a few months, I got a letter from Duncan Regent telling me the appeal was unsuccessful and they’d done their best. Then the VOA called to say it was actually Duncan Regent who pulled the appeal. The officer even said Duncan Regent likely knew from the start it wouldn’t succeed but pushed it through anyway just to get businesses to pay up. What a total sham! Wasted my money and time, definitely a lesson learned the hard way.FRAUDValuation Office AgencyDuncan RegentVOA13 yearsHonestly, I can't believe I fell for this scam. They promised me everything, took my cash, and guess what? Nothing came of it. Really hope someone reports them to trading standards.13 yearsI’m with you lot, got caught up in their hollow promises. They keep bombarding me with threats and bills - told them to bring it to court if they’re so sure, and I’ve already handed their details over to my lawyer. If they keep pestering me, I’m thinking of paying them a little visit myself. Bet they have no clue what might come of that, lol! Totally steer clear of them - such a pointless hassle!13 yearsYou should definitely report this to trading standards so others don’t fall for it. You can email them at [email protected] Also, letting the BBC’s consumer team know might help: [email protected]. Better to stop these scams before more people get caught out!BBC13 yearsThe moderators of this site have been contacted by "The Company" regarding six anonymous comments that apparently violate copyright laws, all seeming to originate from the same person. They plan to consult legal experts about pursuing libel charges due to defamatory statements made in these posts, which are false and damaging to "The Company’s" reputation, allegedly made with malice. Furthermore, "The Company" is considering using legal measures to uncover the identity of the anonymous user by tracing the IP address, compelling the Internet Service Provider to release personal details like the user’s name and address.Internet Service13 yearsStay clear of Duncan Regent Associates, they are a total scam. Their website, duncanregent.co.uk, should be avoided at all costs. Ricky and his team boast about being nearly 99% sure they'll win a business rates appeal "based on provided evidence", but in my case the VOA dismissed it, saying there wasn’t enough cause to even consider it. I've tried contacting Duncan Regent Associates many times about their deceptive claims but they’re just ignoring all my calls and emails. Really disappointed and feel completely misled.Duncan Regent AssociatescoRickyValuation Office Agency13 yearsThey kept pushing me to subscribe, saying on the phone there was no cost, but as soon as I signed up, they hit me with hidden fees written in tiny print. They demand payment before providing any service at all. Honestly, the company is full of bullies just trying to squeeze cash out of you. Avoid them at all costs! Not a trustworthy outfit.13 yearsI ended up signing up with these people and it was a terrible experience. Their sales team tell you one thing but when you read the tiny print in their Terms and Conditions, it’s a completely different story. Planning to report them to trading standards because their tactics are pretty dodgy. Seriously, steer clear of http://www.duncanregent.co.uk/. Don’t worry about leaving a review - they don’t have access to your IP, and in this country it’s your right to speak out. The more people share their bad experiences, the quicker they’ll get shut down. Absolutely awful!coSubmit Your Own Report (01204 388189)
