I got a call from someone saying they were ringing on behalf of the National Tenancy Helpline, trying to offer help with getting tenant deposits back. Thing is, I’m not even a tenant! Feels really dodgy to me, I wouldn’t trust them at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the National Tenancy Helpline, trying to help me get my tenant deposit back. When I switched things up and started asking odd questions, they went totally quiet - clearly they only stick to a script on their screen. They said I’d filled out a survey, which is rubbish because I’ve never heard of them and definitely didn’t do any survey. Seems like they’ve bought some bits of your info somewhere, but it’s patchy at best. My advice? Don’t give them anything, just have a laugh and give them a piece of your mind for being such dodgy fraudsters. Take care and enjoy catching them out!
