Just got a call about some fake car accident, how do these people even get hold of our details? The so-called telephone preference service is useless if it can’t stop this nonsense. Why aren’t the phone companies shutting down these dodgy numbers? It’s unbelievable they’re still allowed to keep ringing!

i got a call claiming i could receive between £2000 and £3000 for a no-fault accident i supposedly had last december. i believed them and ended up giving away my address, phone number, full name, and even my national insurance number. i reported it to the cops straight away. i have no idea how they even got my car registration and phone details in the first place. the police are currently looking into it for me. if anyone rings you with offers of compensation, just hang up, it’s a total scam!

I got a call from a girl who was shouting about some ACM Bolton survey follow-up. Then she went on about a third party demanding something from me and said I could claim some sort of compensation - it was all so muddled and felt like one of those dodgy phishing calls that nearly fooled me for a second. Pretty obvious scam but what’s annoying is that she already had my car’s registration and phone number, so someone’s data’s clearly been leaked.

Honestly, just hang up. These folks are fishing for info about a crash, stuff they dig up from some database. They really don’t have any more details than that. Best not to give them any info at all.

The girl on the phone was quite polite, I’ll give her that, but the company itself is a total shambles. They’re obviously clueless, quoting info that’s way out of date and just plain wrong. Honestly, if you have to deal with them, brace yourself for a nightmare and try to find a business that actually knows what it’s doing.

Got loads of missed calls every day from this number, tried picking up the first time but they just dropped the call straight away.

They claimed to be from some aftercare outfit called ACM or something similar, but I couldn't track down anything about them online - really strange. The info this person gave me raised some big red flags, felt like a proper privacy breach was going on. I ended up giving her a bit of a telling off on the phone, maybe a bit harsh but honestly, I felt it had to be done. If anyone else gets a call from this mob, my best advice is to steer clear completely.

A friendly sounding woman called me, saying I might claim £2,000 to £3,000 for a paint scratch via my insurance. Just last month, she mentioned only £1,500! She rambled on with nonsense, probably to confuse me or get me interested, then handed me over to some ‘senior’ person. Best thing to do was just hang up straight away. This was some company called acm in Bolton.
