Had a rather dodgy call from a foreign-sounding chap claiming to be from Vodafone, droning on about some sort of discount for a contract I don’t even have with them. Pure nonsense!

I received a rather dubious phone call from someone claiming to represent a solar panel company. When I inquired about their website, they mentioned www.smartsolarenergy.co.uk, which suspiciously redirects to GoDaddy where the domain is listed for a whopping £395. I pointed this out to the caller, and to my surprise, they just abruptly ended the conversation. Before that, I attempted to ask how long they had been with the company, but rather than providing a straightforward answer, they questioned why it mattered-what a way to dodge a simple query! The individual on the line had a distinct Indian accent and quite frankly, came across as extremely unprofessional, leaving no doubt in my mind that this was a scam. Regrettably, my past experiences have led me to associate such calls with fraud, especially when they originate from similar accents. While I don’t mean to generalise, the pattern of deceit has been consistent enough that it’s hard not to be sceptical. It's genuinely disheartening, as I've developed an instinctive mistrust towards anyone sharing that accent due to the barrage of time-wasting calls I've endured.

A woman rang me purporting to be from Vodafone. When I raised my concerns and asked her for my account number, she insisted that I needed to verify my identity first. I strongly advise against engaging with her queries!
