I got a rather alarming automated call from the number 01204025824, claiming to be from HMRC. They said there’s a tax fraud investigation underway and that if I didn’t return their call, a warrant for my arrest would be issued. Naturally, I chose not to call back, but I’ve heard tales of others who did and were connected to a call centre. Apparently, they end up having to provide personal information like their name, postcode, house number, and even their bank details. Quite the dodgy situation!
