01 203 7693117 Watch out for these Assure Protection folks, total scammers. They got all my info - email, phone number - and tried pushing me to buy insurance on white goods. As soon as I told them I was already covered, they just hung up on me! Their story sounds convincing, but don’t fall for it!

I have been experiencing a number of these calls recently where the caller hangs up as soon as I answer. It's frustrating because I've had several instances of this happening in the past few days. Each time, I block the number, but it seems like they just find another one to call from.

On a sunny afternoon this Tuesday, I received an unexpected phone call from someone who claimed to represent Amazon. They stated that a Prime account had been created in my name, and began to charge me £99.99 every month. I was taken aback, as they knew personal details about me such as my name and address. I was unsure of how they had acquired this information. Hoping to resolve the issue, I instructed them to cancel the fraudulent account immediately. To my surprise, the caller requested access to the security settings on my laptop. Recognizing this as a tactic often employed by scammers, I became suspicious. When I questioned their intentions, expressing my concerns about potential fraud, they insisted that they were not scammers. However, when I firmly refused to grant them access, they abruptly hung up. For reference, here are the phone numbers used during this interaction: - 2:24pm - 07413889148 - 2:32pm - 07416528326 - 2:35pm - 07411465205 - Thursday's number - 01203528016

We received an automated message on 01203 117722, informing us that our Amazon Prime subscription would be automatically renewed using our debit card unless we press 1 to cancel. Instead of complying, I decided to call the number back and inquire about which Amazon account they were referring to. It turned out that they had called a business number which does not have its own Amazon account. However, the person on the other end, who had an Indian accent, abruptly ended the call after I asked the question for the third time.

I trust this information will be useful to you.

Yours sincerely,

Today, I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. They mentioned that there was an issue with my computer. Curious, I asked them how they had obtained my phone number. The person, who identified themselves as 'Mr Brown', said that they had access to my name, address, and computer details as registered with Microsoft. I requested that they send me a written communication instead, but 'Mr Brown' responded that it would take too much time. Strangely, he insisted that he was calling from Reading. Feeling uncertain about the authenticity of the call, I decided to end the conversation and disconnected. Afterwards, I used the 1471 service to obtain the caller's telephone number for reference.

I recently received a call from a new number, 012035516119, for the first time. After a brief pause, a male voice spoke whom I couldn't immediately identify. His accent seemed to be from an overseas location. Without any hesitation, I decided to end the call. In addition to that, I have also been contacted three times from a number that appeared as 01811. The callers claimed to be from BT, cautioning me that my internet service was at risk of being disconnected. They repeatedly requested that I press a phone button in response. However, their approach sounded suspicious and resembled a scam or phishing attempt. Unwilling to take any chances, I promptly terminated the conversation on each occasion.

Yesterday, we received two separate phone calls from the number 389301, warning that our internet connection would be terminated within 24 hours. The caller instructed me to press 1 for more information. Interestingly, instances like this have occurred not just once, but multiple times in a day and over the course of several days. Additionally, it is worth noting that both male and female voices have been involved in these calls.

Received a call from this number around 8 in the evening. An individual with an Indian accent, possibly calling from abroad, claimed that we owed them £49.99 for blocking nuisance calls on our behalf-though they never specified who "them" was. We firmly told them this was nonsense, to which they replied, “No, it isn’t.” So, we countered with a strong “yes it is,” and this back-and-forth persisted for some time until she nearly lost her temper and hung up on us. Thankfully, we’ve got Truecall on our side, and we intend to add this number to our block list.
