Got a cold call from these lot, telling me to dial 1461 and ring them back. Honestly, it’s a scam and they’re trying to make us pay for the calls too! They called me a couple days ago claiming to be from Amazon - total scam, don’t bother calling back. My number is barely a month old and I never share my landline since I mainly use my mobile. I got two calls from her today, even after I told her I wasn’t interested. She kept pushing insurance on me, so I just hung up. Not long after, she phoned back and rudely suggested *I* was being rude for hanging up! I was just about to serve dinner and it really annoyed me. I think this was from Home Serve. 01202680708 rang me when I was waiting for a hospital call. There was a bit of a pause and some background sounds before a man introduced himself as Michael from Microsoft about my PC. I told him Microsoft wouldn't call me as they don’t do that sort of thing and they wouldn’t have my number anyway. I called him out for lying and gave him a proper telling off, but he kept interrupting me. Once I was done giving him what for, I ended the call.

That way you can get their info, then tell them they've got the wrong number and person. After that, erase any details and block the number. This is Home Appliance Guard from Bournemouth ringing up trying to push insurance for home appliances. They've kept ringing my elderly mother-in-law loads of times every day this week, and even before that. On Thursday 28/06 they called 7 times, and already 6 times today, Friday 29/06. I've had to block them on BT Call Protect! My mother-in-law is on the Telephone Preference Service, yet this lot are just ignoring it completely! My suggestion: just don’t pick up.
