Got a call on my landline from a woman with an American accent saying I’d been charged £39.99 for my Amazon Prime membership. She kept going on about how they appreciated me as a loyal member and stuff. I just ended the call straight away since I’ve never signed up for Amazon Prime at all. Definitely a dodgy automated message.

Got a call claiming to be from Amazon and it felt dodgy right away. Real companies you have accounts with usually say your name straight away, but this one didn’t. Plus, they’ll often mention some bits of your info, like the last few numbers of your account, to prove who they are. When I hung up and tried calling back, I made sure to listen for the dial tone before picking up again, so I knew the scammer was off the line. Stay sharp out there!
