I received one of those typical cold calls today-there was a rather long pause after I answered, which raised my suspicions straight away. An individual with an Asian accent introduced herself, claiming to represent BT. She mentioned that, as a valued customer, I was eligible for a 25% discount along with some months of free service. Given that I had only just finalised a new contract with BT, I was immediately on my guard. When she requested I confirm my postcode, her tone shifted to irritation when I inquired about the reason for this. I expressed my disbelief in her claims of being from BT and asked for her contact number. She provided the number 0800800150, but upon hanging up and checking the number via 1471, I discovered it was actually 01202683425. Quite the dodgy situation, wouldn't you say?
