There was that usual pause after I answered before anyone spoke. A woman with an Asian accent said she was ringing from BT, offering a 25% discount plus a few months of free rental since I’m a loyal customer. I got suspicious straight away because I'd just renewed my BT contract recently. When she asked for my postcode to confirm, I asked why she needed it, and she sounded pretty irritated. I said I didn’t think she was actually from BT and requested her phone number. She gave me 0800800150 but when I hung up and checked my caller ID with 1471, the number showed up as 01202683425.
