I had a rather unsettling encounter with a man who claimed to be representing the TPS. After I started questioning his inquiries, he swiftly passed me off to what he referred to as his supervisor. Feeling suspicious, I ended the call. To my surprise, they rang me back, and the person on the line introduced himself as James Hall, providing an address at 70 Margaret Street, W1W 8SS, and a contact number of 0203 6305 457. He verified this information, but then he asked for an eight-digit number I found on the bottom of my card, which set alarm bells ringing. I hung up once more, and he called again. I confronted him, stating that this was clearly telemarketing and that the police had issued warnings against such calls. I hung up yet again, and out of curiosity, I dialled 1471 to see the last number that had called me, which turned out to be 01202 535577. Now I find myself unsure of how to proceed.

It seems they're masquerading as if they're from the Telephone Preference Service. Not authentic at all! Definitely a scam operation. Keep your wits about you!
