Looks like the same scam mentioned earlier.9 yearsI got a call earlier today claiming that I had enrolled in a call blocking service about a year back, and she mentioned a password that made zero sense to me. To her credit, she did end the call quite courteously!9 yearsI received a rather peculiar call today from a company by the name of Secure Block. The lady on the other end had seemingly intimate knowledge of my name and address, claiming that I had made a deposit via my debit card around two years ago, even specifying the card in question. She then insisted that I needed to fork out £98 to access their full call blocking service. Naturally, I refrained from confirming any of the personal information she sought. When I requested that she send the information in writing, she rather curtly informed me that they don’t conduct business in that manner! I promptly asked her to cancel whatever this was and hung up. Interestingly, I had a strikingly similar experience back on 18 May 2017 when I received a call from a withheld number. The individual was remarkably aggressive and threatened me with debt collection procedures and even police involvement! It’s completely preposterous as he wouldn't even consider such a thing. They called back again, regurgitating the same spiel, so I reminded them that I had already had a chat with them and that I could find no record of their company or that figure in my account. They claimed to be in the business of preventing annoying phone calls and insisted that I was on their registry. I certainly wasn’t! Just another dodgy attempt at scamming.
