Then, just now, 01202 281243 tried calling me but I didn’t pick up since it looked like the same area code as before. I’ve blocked both numbers now, though I’m sure they’ll be back with more calls soon.

So this bloke rings up claiming he's from Nationwide, saying he can lower my direct debit for some insurance I don’t even have. Then he asks me to confirm my bank details! I told him I'd rather get something in writing, like a form, but he said he couldn’t provide one, so no discount for me apparently. Total con.

Got a robo call saying it was Amazon, saying they were gonna charge me £38.99 for some new Prime subscription. They told me to press 1 to talk, so I did. Then some bloke with an Asian accent asked if I wanted to cancel or upgrade. He told me to switch on my PC and log into Amazon. I had a bad feeling it was dodgy, so I just ended the call. I was told I supposedly have an Amazon Prime subscription, which I don’t, just like many others. The call began with a guy speaking in an American accent claiming I’d signed up for a free trial of Prime. He said that since the trial period ended, they’d withdraw £38.99 from my bank. Then I got passed to a man with an Indian accent, but he cut off the call quickly when I questioned where he got his incorrect details. It’s definitely a dodgy scam.
