My mum, who’s nearly 90, picked up the phone and the person on the other end said £600 had been taken from her account. They told her to ring a certain number, and when she did, they’d explain the next steps. She got quite upset but thankfully ended the call. She’s way too old to be jotting down any of these so-called “help” numbers anyway.

I told my mum and dad that someone had taken £600 from their bank and used it at IKEA. Then the caller asked me to press a button if the info was right. Before I could say anything else, they just hung up! Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

I received a recorded call claiming there’s a £600 charge on my Visa card. If this isn't ringing any bells for you, just hit 1 for more info.

Received a call claiming I’d been scammed out of £600 through my BT broadband landline. They posed as BT security. I promptly contacted my genuine provider to inform them. It kicked off with a recorded message, which made the whole experience quite dodgy. Honestly, I'd recommend just hanging up!
