I just got into an argument over the phone with a bloke from this number. As soon as I asked him to connect me to the fraud department, he abruptly ended the call. I was certain I hadn’t signed up for anything.

These scammers are just leeches, they keep ringing up older folks, scamming them for some kind of call-blocking fee every couple of weeks. Proper thieves, honestly.

01202230199 keeps ringing nonstop. It’s awful how these scumbags target vulnerable older folks like they’ve got nothing better to do. Everyone knows it’s just a scam, yet nobody does anything to shut them down. It’s ridiculous - they’re pestering an 89-year-old daily. Someone seriously needs to put an end to this nasty business! Such horrible people.

This number has called me so many times now, I just let it ring out and head straight to my answerphone without picking up. There’s never been any voice message left either. Every time I spot the number, I just ignore it and I’m gonna keep doing that. Cheers, PJ

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Privacy Protect, saying I’d signed up for their service about two years ago to block nuisance calls. He mentioned a payment of £149 coming out from my credit card today and even told me the first four digits of the card. I asked for more card details as I didn’t remember ever signing up for anything like that. He insisted I’d paid last year on the same date. I checked my bank statements and couldn’t find any such payment. I told him I wasn’t paying and needed to contact my card provider to stop any charges. Plus, if this service was real, I’d not be getting all these cold calls still. He said he’d be in touch again and asked for the rest of my card info, which of course I refused to give.

Just got a call from these guys to my elderly mum who has disabilities. They said they were from some nuisance call blocker service and that this was her third year paying them, asking for a final payment. I was upstairs so I could hear the whole chat. When I started asking the man, who said his name was 'Steve', for his info and was about to request his manager, the call suddenly cut off. Total scammers targeting vulnerable older people.

My mum, who has dementia, has fallen victim to these scammers again - third time now. They claim to be a call blocking firm from Bournemouth, ringing her up and charging £140 for a service she didn’t want. As soon as I caught wind of it, I cancelled her card. I tried ringing the number to sort it out, but it just doesn’t connect. Seriously, steer clear of these people. They’re just targeting elderly folks who can’t defend themselves.

01202230199 just keeps calling and won’t stop. They don’t leave you be at all. Honestly, it feels like a scam and I think the cops need to step in and put an end to this. Should have been sorted ages ago, like back in 2018. Lock these people up!

This number, along with quite a few others, is linked to some lot calling themselves Privacy Protect - honestly, what a load of muppets. They’ve been hassling my 77-year-old mum recently, but they won’t get anything from her. When I track these clowns down - and believe me, I will, no matter how long it takes - they’ll regret it. Remember, they can’t swipe your cash unless you hand over your bank details. Just tell them to jog on and hang up straight away. It doesn’t matter how many different numbers pop up or how convincing they sound, just don’t answer or engage with them.

I recently set my phone to block any calls that aren't from my VIP contacts unless they say who they are first, but I was still curious so I looked this number up. After checking, I've gone ahead and blocked the caller manually.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with BT call barring service, demanding £149.99 for the second year of a 3-year plan (apparently the first year was free). When I said I wanted to cancel, the bloke said I couldn’t do it over the phone! I told them I wasn’t falling for it and called them out as scammers. Stay clear of these lot.

On 6th Febuary 2018, my mum who's quite old noticed that two amounts were withdrawn from her bank account. We've been trying loads of times to find any kind of number to call them back but nothing works. The number listed above just doesn't pick up or even allow incoming calls. It's been a real pain trying to get them to stop.

Got a call from this number earlier today. The guy on the line sounded quite polished and claimed that about two years ago I’d signed up for a call barring service with a firm called Privacy Protect. He mentioned my address and a password I sometimes use, which caught me off guard. Then he went on about how for £149 he could set me up with a permanent free service. I was a bit suspicious and told him I never paid for anything like that. He insisted I’d paid £124 two years ago via debit card. When I asked for the last digits of the card for proof, he said he couldn’t share them as it was illegal. I ended the call after that and haven’t heard from them since.

Got a call today from this number. The bloke sounded quite courteous and told me I was still getting annoying calls and that my contract needed paying. But over a year ago I shelled out £149 for a lifetime deal. After checking this number and reading what others have said, it’s clear this is a scam. I was struggling back then and got caught up in it. I told him today I wasn’t handing over any more money. He kept going on about being under contract, but I never signed anything or got any paperwork. So I just told him again no way am I paying, and cut him off midway. Haven’t heard from him since. Stick to your guns and don’t give them another penny.

Last year those con artists managed to rip me off for £124.99. I was struggling at the time, so I guess that’s why I got caught out - normally I’m not daft enough to fall for stuff like that. It baffles me why they’re still allowed to carry on. When they called me today, I made it clear I knew it was a scam and told them to stop calling me. As soon as I ended the call, guess what? They phoned back, but this time I didn’t pick up. Then they even tried ringing from an overseas number! Such a pain.

WARNING STAY AWAY I got a call saying I’d purchased phone blocking cover last year for 3 years costing £124.99, and they said I could upgrade to a lifetime deal if I paid more. When I asked for more info and about my bank details, they just hung up. Never bought anything from these guys. Looks like they’re using all sorts of tricks to try and snag people’s card info.

Someone called me claiming I’d been charged £149 a year for privacy protection over the past two years. When I said I didn’t recall signing up for anything like that, the person insisted they had proof of my payments and suggested I was mistaken. I’m not getting any younger, but I like to think I’m still sharp and wouldn’t just agree to something like that without remembering. I said I’d check my bank records, and they told me to do that and said they’d call back on Monday. After looking up the number online, I quickly saw it was a scam. I doubt they’ll ring me again, though part of me almost hopes they do so I can give them a piece of my mind about trying to con folks. Well, that’s a lesson learned, I suppose.

This number rang me up recently, claiming I owed money and even recited my password, which was a bit creepy. I didn’t recall signing up for anything last year, so I told them I wasn’t paying and simply couldn’t afford it. They kept saying they couldn’t remove me from their list, but I was firm and refused to pay. After a bit of a row, the caller said he’d “check into it” like he was doing me a favour. They’ve called a few more times since, but I’ve just ignored the calls.

Received a rather aggressive call today insisting we cough up £149 for a faulty box that’s useless. Supposedly designed to curb those irritating nuisance calls, but it has done absolutely nothing of the sort. It’s hard to believe how these individuals can get away with such blatant scamming; they really are among the worst I've encountered. Take heed-their device is nothing but low-quality rubbish. We reached out to them two years back, requesting they cease this so-called service, yet here they are, still hounding us for cash. It’s best to keep well clear of them; a quick search for the number 01202230199 reveals countless complaints.

My mum, who’s quite old, keeps getting calls from these scammers. About a year back, they tricked her into buying some call blocking service, even though her BT phone already has that feature. We never managed to get the money back, unfortunately. Recently, they somehow bypassed the call blocker by pretending they were from her bank. Luckily, she was smart enough not to share any info and just ended the call straight away.

I keep receiving calls from this number claiming that I’m signed up for a monthly call barring service. They’re trying to sell me an upgrade for a one-off charge of £99, but when I tell them I haven’t subscribed to anything like that, they turn quite nasty. Honestly, it’s infuriating and I’m utterly fed up with their antics!

Im getting fed up with these calls saying I have a monthly call barring fee which i defo dont pay. They then go on about a one off £99 charge to "update" it and then ask for my bank info. Luckily, I was visiting my 82-year-old mum when these lot phoned, telling her she had a call blocking service with them costing £149 a year. I told them she didn’t, since I handle all her bank stuff, but they refused to chat with me and demanded to speak only to her. While I was with my grandparents, these scammers kept calling my grandma asking for her bank info. Before I could say anything, she’d already given it to them. They didn’t stop there - phoning her repeatedly, telling her she’d be charged for blocking their calls and that she couldn’t cancel anything. I finally picked up, told them I was cancelling her card right then, and they lost it, shouting and swearing at me. We ended up having a proper heated argument! I totally called their bluff and hung up, which they clearly weren’t happy about. Then they rang me back, whining about how rude I was for cutting them off and acting childish! Honestly, don’t ever share your bank details on the phone, no matter who’s calling.

Got a call from Homeguard claiming they were returning a call I never made. They started going on about CO2 alarms and some government rules from October 2015 saying every homeowner has to have one. I told them that’s not true, that rule is for landlords to keep tenants safe. Told them to remove my number and reminded them it’s registered with TPS. She insisted it wasn’t a cold call, but I wasn’t having it and told her not to ring me again. Blocked their number immediately.

Normally, I just ignore calls from unknown numbers, but today I picked up and really regret it. The person on the line claimed I had some kind of contract with them and told me I could either cancel it by paying a one-off charge of £99 or keep it going at a discounted rate of £5.99 per month. They said I’d paid something last year and even mentioned a password that sounded like something I might have come up with - if only I’d been daft enough to believe them and carry on. Despite me repeatedly saying I had never made any payment, they kept insisting I had paid close to £98 previously. Eventually, I just ended it by saying an emphatic no and hung up. I can easily see how someone more vulnerable could get scared and end up falling for this scam.

This number or the firm behind it has rung me quite a few times, and I've ended up losing cash because of them. They have a habit of disappearing for a year or so before reaching out once more.
