My dad was dealing with this firm called Secure My Drains, and now they’re hassling him for the last payment. Since I stepped in to help, I asked them to send over the paperwork, but instead they threatened to send a debt collector after us and then just ended the call. It’s really awful how some folks treat older, vulnerable people like that.

They also operate under the name South West Drain Services - how is this even allowed? An 83-year-old was conned out of nearly £400 by KC Nationwide Services and South West Drain Services. They’ve been advertising jobs here: https://www.gumtree.com/p/office-jobs/telesales/5397622595 If you try ringing their landline, it goes straight to a full voicemail. I've had a pretty much identical experience. Initially they told me it would be £250 for the first year, then £250 for the second, but now they’re asking for £180. I've never handed over any money for drain cover though. This definitely feels like a scam, so I really urge everyone not to get drawn in. I've tried calling Secure My Drains about this issue and letting them know someone’s using their name for this scam, but they haven’t gotten back to me yet.

Got a call from a firm calling themselves "Secure My Drains," which seems to be just another front like "Nationwide Services UK". They tried to con an elderly lady, 85 years old, out of £200 a year by fibbing that she'd already paid for some contract over the past few years and needed to settle the current one to avoid penalties or something like that. The person on the phone was quite polite, so it felt more believable than the aggressive calls we've had from numbers like 01722 441488 and others linked to Kieran Osborne. He was jailed for damaging a betting machine and was let go not long ago. About half a year back, he set up a new company and is now trying to convince us we agreed to a 3-year contract. Seems like he’s using the contact lists he got when he was booted out before. Maybe some of these businesses are skirting the legal line, but make no mistake, they’re exploiting vulnerable people - just low-life parasites who can’t get proper employment.
