Been getting all kinds of scams lately - roofing, boiler, energy rebate ones - all these muppets using recorded messages acting like they're real people. Makes me think they've gotta step up their game to catch me out!

Got a call from the same bloke a couple of hours back, and he was proper pushy. Said he was some sort of local energy consultant and just assumed I owned the house. When I told him I was the butler, he hung up straight away! Sounds like one of those dodgy home insulation and double glazing scams to me.

Totally with what others have said. This caller is a pain, always swapping the last 3 numbers around. Sometimes they even switch the 159 bit to 137. Best way is just to ring back and let the voicemail pick up no matter how many times they ring. Might be a good idea to report it to Ofcom as well.

Somebody rang claiming they were from The Green Eco Centre, saying my loft insulation, which I put in about 15 years ago, was causing damp in my house. They kept insisting on my details to arrange some kind of survey. Apparently, the info came from something called The Energy Performance Register, supposedly from the government. I played along for a while, then cheekily asked for his home number so I could bother him back. At that point, they just hung up.

Got a call from someone named Chris, once more, bored to bits. He claimed to be nearby and wanted to chat about home insulation. Then, out of the blue, he just ended the call. He’s called loads of times before, doing the exact same thing every time. Really strange bloke.
