Had a call from Shyster Inc about loft insulation, but sounded a bit dodgy to me. Not sure if I should trust them or not. Anyone else had dealings with these folks?

My mum wasn’t even in when a call popped up marked as answered on her home phone. Not long after, another call from a number close to that one came through and apparently was picked up too.

I recently encountered a firm operating under the guise of "Eco Green Energy Centre Ltd." Their website claims to be located in Cumbria, yet they're employing landline numbers from Bournemouth. This outfit seems to be nothing more than a scam, bombarding people with incessant cold calls and nuisance calls from a myriad of phone numbers. Currently, I've noticed they’re using numbers beginning with 01202 1595, with the last two digits varying from 01-99. They’ve introduced themselves under the names "Chris" and "David" thus far. When I’ve inquired about how they obtained my details, they go silent, which surely must contravene GDPR regulations. Additionally, their calls seem to bypass the Telephone Preference Service protections. I’ve taken steps to report them to both the TPS and Action Fraud due to these dubious practices.

This rude bloke has called me six times in just a couple of days. Total scammer. He stays quiet, so I just ignore him back.

This number has been calling me a few times today, about four, and they've been switching up the last digit each time. It's the same deal as the past couple of days too. I just don't pick up my home phone anymore, then I use 1471 to check if it's anyone familiar.

I've been getting calls from a chap named Chris, who claims to be an energy advisor. This marks the fourth time he's attempted to reach me in just a few days! Quite the persistent fellow, isn’t he?

I’ve got a local energy consultant knocking about in my neighbourhood, and I can’t shake the feeling that it might be a dodgy scheme aimed at our elderly folks. Just a heads-up to everyone - keep your wits about you and make sure you alert your family and friends!

Got a call from a number showing 5.00pm on the screen, no message left and the phone didn't even ring. Really annoying!

I've had this number call me loads recently, like at least three times just today, but whenever I pick up, there’s nobody there. It’s so frustrating! Why isn’t there a way to block this kind of annoying bother for good?

Got a call from someone claiming to be local and offering insulation deals but it was a complete scam. They said they were from Bournemouth, but I knew better because their number didn’t start with 01202, which is the real Bournemouth area code. Pretty dodgy!

Didn't pick up, but I have had a few dodgy loft insulation calls coming from the 01202 code, so it's no shock that plenty are saying it's connected to loft insulation scams.

This group keeps ringing me up. They always start with, "Hello, Chris here, your neighbourhood energy consultant," but I just put the phone down. Pretty sure it's dodgy.

Got a call from some supposed 'local energy consultant' or something, but it was obviously an automated bot. The way it asked questions was super dodgy and unnatural, not like a real person at all. If you’re clued up, it’s pretty obvious, but I worry that older folks might fall for it. Really scary how tech is moving in this direction!

Had loads of calls from 01202 numbers lately. Today, some bloke called Chris, said he was my local energy advisor. Pretty sure it was a scam though, I just ended the call. Most of the time they just drop the line themselves.

Got a call out the blue from someone named Chris who said he was an energy advisor. He was banging on about my loft insulation being the old-fashioned kind - called it “the fluffy stuff” or something like that. I just ended the call straight away. Felt like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with our local pro service. When I asked what that entailed, he said they link you up with local businesses. I told him I wasn’t interested and hung up. This week alone, I’ve had around half a dozen calls from different but similar numbers.

I got a few calls lately from 01202, claiming they're some housing advisor near me, but weirdly, they're from a totally different area. When I pick up, they just go quiet and cut off. They’re always trying to chat about insulation stuff, but I just say I’m not interested and end the call. I reckon if I had answered this last one properly, it would've been the same spiel.

Bloody insulation cowboys are attempting to pull a fast one on me, a right shower of numpties!

Received a call from someone claiming to be Chris, an energy consultant linked to The Green Eco Centre. They seem to be utilising a range of 01202 numbers. Every time they ring, I swiftly block the number, yet they persist by altering the final digit. When I informed him that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, he abruptly ended the call. This has got to be my fifth or sixth encounter with them. I’ve attempted to uncover more about their identity and location, but to no avail.

I've had a similar experience to the last commenter. Received a call claiming to be from South West London for the third time in just two days! I informed Chris that I'm not interested at all. My advice? Just cut the call short and save yourself the hassle!

He claimed to be the energy efficiency consultant for our area and mentioned that he had access to a government database indicating that we had outdated loft insulation - you know, the “fluffy white stuff.” However, when I inquired about our postcode, he seemed clueless and couldn’t provide it.

My missus received a rather dodgy phone call regarding the need to purchase new wall insulation, with the caller insisting that our current insulation isn't up to standard. They said an engineer would come round to assess the situation. I overheard her and firmly interjected that it wasn't necessary since we don't have the funds for such nonsense. I advised them to take a hike, but the caller became quite rude before hanging up. To my surprise, I got another call from the same number shortly after. I decided to answer it, adopting a male tone. To my astonishment, the voice on the other end stayed silent, but I could hear the breathing, which was quite unsettling. They eventually hung up on me as well. It appears they prefer engaging with women rather than men - talk about a blatant sales scam! Ladies, be cautious of such callers...

I recently received one of those 'smart' automated calls that left me feeling quite uneasy. It was about a supposed "local energy consultant in my vicinity". The lack of a genuine human touch was evident, with a series of scripted questions that are all too obvious if you're familiar with these tactics. I can't help but think that elderly folks might easily fall for this sort of thing. It's a rather unpleasant evolution in technology, if you ask me!
