He chose to disregard my request and insisted that his manager would be in touch instead. When I reiterated that I preferred to speak to him directly, he claimed to be new to the role and abruptly ended the call. It's quite baffling, really, as my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service to ward off unwanted cold calls. How on earth did he manage to get hold of my details?
