Can’t believe these scams still happen! My mum, who’s 91, just got a call from someone trying to sell her loft insulation. How do these dodgy salespeople get away with it? It’s so wrong!

Just people messing about and wasting my time.

This number, or ones similar to it, has kept ringing me lately. It's clearly some kind of scam about loft insulation. They don’t even check if there's a loft in your home, let alone what kind of insulation is installed. Such a waste of time!

Someone rang me earlier but never got through because of my BT call blocker. They've been blocked for good now.

Got a call from this number on 12/10/21 while I wasn’t home. Then it rang again this morning around 9:15, so I picked up and it was some bloke called Chris claiming to be my local energy guy. I quickly told him to stop and pointed out he wasn’t from my area at all. I also mentioned I’d looked him up on this site and saw loads of people had flagged the number. I said I would be reporting and blocking it right away. Definitely a scam, don’t waste your time!

Getting loads of calls from the 01202 number lately, think I'll just block them.

Got a call from a bloke named Chris about doing a damp survey in my loft. He just wouldn't accept my refusal, felt like I was chatting with some kind of robot that didn’t bother hearing what I had to say. Proper frustrating.

Got a call from some random energy advisor claiming to be local. I told him straight up he sounded like a scammer from Bournemouth and ended the call.

This number rings me pretty much every day. When I finally pick up and say "hello," no one replies. It's quite annoying really.

I've no idea how many times this number has called me, even after I've told them to stop. It's really frustrating, especially when I'm trying to get on with work at home!

Got two calls from this number but they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. Probably just spam.

Could be a scammer that won’t give up or someone who just stays quiet on the line.

Yet another phone call about loft insulation, this time hailing from Bournemouth!

Two calls came through earlier today, one in the morning and another later in the evening. I didn’t pick up either time and there wasn’t any voicemail left.

Missed the call and they didn't bother to leave a voicemail or anything.

Got a call about some insulation in my loft, which I hadn’t even done. Turns out it was just a spam call. Didn’t even hang up straight away!

Got a call from someone claiming to be an energy advisor. It sounded like it was mostly automatic on their end, kept going over the same info again and again. Annoying, especially since I’m on the TPS list and they clearly didn’t care.

this bloke was really pushy, kept trying to convince me to have my loft checked out. he talked in really unclear ways, acting like he already had info about some work done up there. whenever i asked him stuff, he just went over the same things instead of giving straight answers. felt a bit iffy about it, so i cut the call short. also, even after asking, i had no clue what his company was all about. pretty sure it’s just some marketing scam, and i wouldn’t trust anyone who’s into buying leads from these types.

Got a call from someone pushing loft insulation through some government programme. They didn’t bother to see that my place is pretty new, barely any loft space, and already has an A-rated energy certificate. Waste of time really.

Got a call from a person trying to sell loft insulation, saying they'd come round for a free check to see if my place needs it. I wasn't interested at all.

somebody called saying my house could get loft insulation done, but when i asked how they knew what was in my loft, they just cut me off without even saying bye. feeling a bit upset about it all.

I get calls from them a few times a week, usually ringing me twice every day.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he’d do a free loft insulation check and then told me how much it’d cost to upgrade it. Seemed friendly enough, but he said he was from South London, which isn’t even near where I live.

I didn’t recognise the caller’s digits, so I opted not to pick up. They didn’t bother leaving a message either.

Recently, I received a rather peculiar call from a chap named Chris, who mentioned that the insulation in my loft - which was replaced around a decade ago under a government initiative - might be responsible for causing condensation and consequently damp issues within my home. He suggested that I may need to consider a replacement, as he claimed similar properties in my area had undergone inspections and resolved the matter through a shift in insulation materials. When I inquired about his credentials, Chris stated he worked for a green energy organisation. I pressed him for a website where I could verify his claims, to which he replied, rather awkwardly, that his manager would provide that information when they called back. He admitted to being new in his role and lacking answers to my questions. At that point, I rather boldly stated that if his manager wasn't significantly more knowledgeable and ready to engage than him, I’d be inclined to suspect that this was all a clever ruse. There was a rather lengthy silence before the line went dead, prompting me to hang up. Interestingly, earlier in our conversation, Chris had quizzed me on whether I was the homeowner and my age - specifically if I was between 50 and 80, or over 80. He then informed me that there was typically a £75.00 inspection fee for assessing the insulation, but due to my age bracket, he would generously waive it this time around. Although Chris presented himself with a rather posh accent and seemed quite earnest, it was abundantly clear he was merely reciting a script, ill-prepared to tackle any inquiries that strayed from his established lines. He came across as a somewhat naive individual tasked with making initial contact for a company that may well have dubious intentions.

I picked up the phone, but the caller hung up before I could say a word. It seems to be just another spam call from Norfolk.

I’m currently attempting to market loft insulation through a government-supported initiative. It only just dawned on me that my property is a newly built one, lacking a substantial loft space, and boasts an A-rated Energy Performance Certificate. What an oversight!

I've received numerous calls on my home phone from a bloke who always introduces himself as Chris, and to be honest, I've simply hung up every time.
