I usually just let these calls ring through to voicemail, never picking up. So far, I’ve noticed 8 different numbers all starting with 012021, which I guess is their way of avoiding being blocked. They tend to ring only during office hours as well.

Had a bloke named Chris ring me claiming to be from some 'Green Eco Centre' about a free loft insulation inspection. He said the insulation they put in before might be making my loft damp or something. Asked for my age range - whether I was 50-80 or over 80 - and my last name. I’ve heard about this happening to others too, but with different phone numbers used as well. Feels like a dodgy scam to me.

Just like others have mentioned, this guy claims to be an energy consultant for my area, which is miles away from Bournemouth where I live! He said my loft insulation needed attention according to his records. Then he asked if I owned the house. I told him I’d got it covered and ended the call. That was yesterday. Got a call from the same number today, so I hung up straight away. After reading others have had similar calls, I’ve decided to block the number now.

I've had two calls today as well, different numbers each time. Earlier it was from Exeter, then just now a Bournemouth area code popped up. When I asked who was calling, the bloke said something like Local Energy Adviser. He started rambling about my loft insulation being the wrong sort and asked if that rang a bell. I told him it did very much ring a bell - like a total scam. He suddenly started chuckling nervously, which was just weird, so I ended the call.
