Lately, I’ve been getting calls about insulation from a bunch of 01202 numbers, and I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

This is Chris, your neighbourhood energy consultant.

So, they claimed to be from "our local energy company," right? Sure they did. They were asking about some loft insulation grant. This caller rings all the time and honestly, they just don’t get it when you tell them to buzz off in plain old English.

I usually dont answer calls from numbers i don't recognise, but numbers looking almost the same have called me before, and every time they turned out to be scams. So i wouldnt trust this one either.

Complete charlatan touting phony green energy solutions, just like many others have noted. This bloke reckoned he could identify my loft insulation type and even my age, alongside having my landline number on hand. As soon as I pointed out the absurdity of his claims, he was quick to terminate the conversation.

Utterly infuriating! The number's ex-directory and registered with the TPS, so I took matters into my own hands. Just reported them to the ICO-now that's a proper government body! It's a straightforward process… a bit of sweet retribution for all of us!

somebody rang saying they were an energy advisor for my area, said my house had bad loft insulation according to their records. i asked them to clarify the address they meant, and right after that the line got all crackly and then went dead. i’m convinced it’s a scam. got a call before from almost the same number too. definitely not from any official government service!

a guy with an english accent rang up saying he was from some government energy savings thing, wanted to chat about insulation and ways to save energy. i really couldnt tell if it was legit or if there was some dodgy reason behind it, so i just said no cheers like i do with all these cold calls and hung up.

Got a call saying my house is listed on some kind of register and that I need a loft insulation check. They said it’s free since I’m a pensioner. Definitely a scam!

I received a call from the Green Eco Centre, and it was clear they were sticking rigidly to a script. When I inquired about the origins of my number, they incessantly pointed to the government's green energy register. I pressed them on why I was contacted despite my number being listed on the TPS register, and they repeated their rehearsed line about the green energy register before abruptly ending the call.

I've received three calls in the last day from numbers that are ever so slightly varied. It's that green energy consultant bothering me once more!

I’ve just received a call regarding my attic insulation.

I received a rather pushy call from someone claiming to represent a so-called 'government initiative' regarding loft insulation surveys. Their manner was quite aggressive, and they dodged my queries about their employer. It seemed evident that their true intention was to gain entry into my home to sell an alternative loft insulation product. Once they sensed my scepticism, they abruptly ended the call.

This chap introduced himself as Chris, claiming to be the local green energy consultant. He waffled on about loft insulation even after I mentioned I wasn’t the homeowner and that they weren’t around at the time. He insisted that most houses in our neighbourhood had already made the switch and that we'd all save a pretty penny. I told him straight that I wasn’t clued up on it and then ended the call.

Just received a call. Some chap purporting to be from a loft insulation company claimed my loft wasn’t properly done. I had to inform him that I reside on the ground floor in a flat. That was the end of the conversation. I was under the impression that these sorts of calls were against the law. Sounds like a possible violation of data privacy laws, if you ask me.

Received a call from someone purporting to be a community energy consultant. As someone in the energy and telecoms industry, I was quite intrigued. When I probed about how they acquired my number, the line abruptly went silent, but they didn’t actually hang up. A subsequent 1471 check revealed a recorded message stating it was related to a "Digital Marketing Services" customer survey. Quite the turn of events, wouldn't you say?

Received a call at exactly 12:29 this afternoon. I've got caller ID, so I tend to avoid answering any numbers that aren't familiar to me. Plus, I'm on the Telephone Preference Service list - though that seems to have no real impact, honestly! Quite annoying, really. They didn’t bother to leave a message either.

What a bizarre array of sounds! It’s oddly captivating, almost trance-inducing, isn’t it?

I received a call from someone claiming to represent the government’s green loft insulation initiative. It was quite clear he was sticking rigidly to a script and wasn’t open to any back-and-forth dialogue. Despite my attempts to engage, he continued pushing for me to attend to discuss a “free assessment” regarding some damp issues related to loft insulation. It felt more like a sales pitch rather than a genuine conversation, so I decided to hang up on him. It really wasn’t a proper exchange at all!

There’s this bloke named Chris who seems to ring me three or four times each month, all about loft insulation. Today, I answered yet again from the same number, and it was unmistakably his voice. However, this time he introduced himself as John and was trying to peddle something entirely different! Quite the cheeky switch-up, if you ask me.

Received a call from someone claiming to represent a government heating advice service, insisting that as the property owner, I should discuss the various heating alternatives available to me. When I pointed out that he had contacted me on an ex-directory number, which is also listed with the Telephone Preference Service, and queried why they hadn't conducted the necessary checks prior to calling, he abruptly ended the call! What a shocker! Clearly, they're not interested in adhering to proper protocols, yet they're eager to scoop up business by bending the rules. Just a heads up about 01202137451 - you've been forewarned.

I frequently receive calls from a chap named Chris on my home phone. I was tempted to keep him on the line for a good 10 to 15 minutes just to mess with him, but I found myself occupied dealing with a couple of other con artists simultaneously. One was a dodgy text about a parcel from Hermes, and the other was from Emirates National Bank of Dubai, promising me a share of a staggering $30 million. I must admit, that Hermes message nearly had me convinced. Stay alert, everyone!

I recently had a rather frustrating experience with loft insulation companies. Honestly, the state of my loft is quite appalling, and their claims were simply absurd. I tried to explain that what they were saying was complete nonsense, yet they were more interested in arguing than listening. Just another instance of scams lurking about!
