Got a call from a guy who said his name was Chris and claimed to be an energy advisor near where I live, although he didn't say exactly where. He asked if I owned the place. When I tried asking who they wanted to talk to, it became pretty clear it was just an automated system because it repeated the initial questions again. Got a call about loft insulation the other day, sounded really convincing at first. The bloke had a really posh, calm voice - nothing pushy or rude, quite pleasant actually. But as soon as I tried asking any proper questions, the line just went dead or I got no response at all. Turns out it was some sort of automated voice, probably a bot, 'cause it couldn’t answer anything that wasn’t super simple. Definitely not legit, feels like a proper scam to me.

Somebody ringing me said they were from an insulation firm around here, but I don’t even live near Bournemouth! A couple days back, I got a call with the same area code but when I picked up no one spoke. Just got another call and the moment I said I wasn’t interested, they cut off straight away. I’m flagging this as harassment, but for someone more vulnerable this kinda behaviour could be really worrying.

Got a call about insulation, but they just refused to answer any questions I had. Seemed fishy, definitely a scam.

They called claiming to be from some insulation advice firm, saying they could do a survey to see if I qualified for a government grant. Then they said if no grant was possible, the ‘advisor’ could still provide a quote for the job. Sounds dodgy to me - could be a scam or just a business fishing for customers. Either way, I’d be wary and not trust ’em straight away.

He wrongly said that BT’s Telephone Preference Service doesn’t cover research or marketing calls. Feels like they’re preying on older folks. Proper nasty and worrying, if you ask me.

I got two calls from different numbers in like five minutes. When my answerphone picked up, they just hung up straight away. This has to be that energy loft insulation scam going around using loads of different numbers.
