Had a phone call from a really nice woman about some old fibreglass loft insulation, saying they could do a free loft check. She mentioned there might be some financial support because of my age for the new stuff they'd put in. When I told her I’d be out all day tomorrow (which was when they wanted to pop round) and that I wasn’t keen, she sounded pretty shocked. I ended the call quickly - this smells like a con, don’t fall for it!

Someone rang saying they were a senior energy advisor for my area and wanted to know if i owned the house. When i asked what company they worked for, they just ended the call straight away.

I dunno who keeps callin me, so I just dont pick up anymore. My phone’s got about 45 numbers blocked now, and after reading what others said, I guess I’m definitely doin the right thing!

Got a call from this ‘national booking office’ number (01202 096039) saying my loft insulation needed updating. They were pushing some A-rated icynene insulation, claiming it was more eco-friendly. The bloke kept trying to book me in for an inspection, saying they’d be nearby the very next day and it had to be done then. He promised it’d save me up to 30% on heating costs. After looking into it properly, I realised it was a dodgy pitch and said no thanks.

This bloke rang me, and when I said I was busy with an appointment, he claimed he wasn’t cold calling. He started talking about some old fibreglass insulation that might be dodgy. I told him my husband wasn’t home and asked him to send a letter with all the details instead. Weirdly, he already had our address! After that, if I see the number again, I’m not picking up!

Got a call from someone selling loft installs out of the blue. Completely not interested and felt like just another spammy sales call. Typical telemarketer stuff really.

Got a call from Mass Foam Systems the other day, they were saying my loft insulation needed updating and mentioned some special offers for pensioners. They wanted to send someone round to check it out. After doing a bit of digging, it turns out they expect a deposit of roughly £1300! Quite a lot, if you ask me.
