Got a call from 'Owl Home Solutions' to an elderly relative, and then this guy 'Micky the Surveyor' showed up - didn't seem properly qualified at all. He checked the loft and told them it would cost £16k for a couple of days work, then handed the phone to my parents to cough up a £5.5k deposit on the spot. Properly shady. When I rang the company, they said they always make sure they're dealing with whoever controls the money, which to me sounds like they’re either preying on vulnerable folks or just running a very ruthless operation. Avoid these lot if you can.

Got a call from a call centre setting up appointments for Owl Home Solutions. They use scare tactics about cavity wall and loft insulation problems. The visit includes a surveyor with a thermal imaging camera, which then turns into a sales pitch for their products. They also demand that everyone involved with the property be there, probably to pressure you into buying. Best to avoid them altogether.

Got a call from someone claiming to do a survey on cavity wall insulation. I told them my house is a modern new build and is properly insulated, but I honestly had no clue what type it was. They just hung up on me straight away. Not interested in dealing with those people at all.

A woman named Elizabeth rang me up and arranged a meeting. Then I got a call from Ben, who said he was her manager, and he was told that I’m in the middle of selling my place and really don’t want any hassle right now. All good, no issues. They were quite polite about it.

Some bloke called Richard about changes to "cavity wall insulation" linked to my house... total SCAM because my place was built in the 1800s, way before cavity walls were even a thing. He just wouldn’t hear me out and ended up hanging up after telling me to "SHUT UP"… reckon I came off best in that chat.

Never mentioned who they were but some "Christy" told me my Loft Insulation was rubbish according to the "Board of Agromant" or something like that (no idea who they even are?). I’m pretty sure it’s one of those firms linked to that serial director Paul Jude Malone and his mates, like PJM Solutions, Thermal Home Insulations, Platinum Player Management, Ideal Home Solutions South, and Lime Green Energy (which barely lasted 5 months). Watch out, he’s likely connected to Justin Brian Perry too, who’s now locked up for Conspiracy to Defraud.

Received a call earlier from 01202084085 claiming they wanted to assess my loft insulation because, apparently, all fibreglass insulation will be outlawed in the next five years! Mind you, we’re on the ex-directory list. Did a quick search on the number and found plenty of concerning comments about scams associated with it. Definitely doesn’t feel right!

I received a rather curious phone call earlier today, where the caller was trying to sell me a thermal imaging camera to check the insulation of my walls. Apparently, they mentioned that my property's cavity wall insulation was done quite a while back. Strangely, they claimed I was the very last householder they’d be reaching out to in my postcode! They mentioned they would be conducting their thermal imaging surveys in the next couple of days. However, it simply can't be feasible to assess each and every property with cavity wall insulation in this area within such a short timeframe. It just doesn’t add up!

Received a call regarding my cavity insulation - they claimed I had already taken care of it. However, they mentioned needing to conduct a check using a thermal imaging camera. They were apparently working on behalf of the government to inspect insulation that had been installed through their scheme. It was all for free, they insisted, just a bit of friendly advice. They mentioned that they had already covered most of my neighbourhood, and I was the last one left. To be quite frank, I’m not buying any of it. I’m well aware your fancy camera will pinpoint cold spots (I’ve already identified them myself), and I can just envision you asserting that these are costing me a small fortune and offering to rectify it for an additional fee. But of course, it’s all “just advisory,” right? How many times do I need to convey that I’m not interested? Do us both a favour and simply steer clear of me!

Someone called saying my cavity wall insulation was no longer up to date. I told them my house is like 250 years old and doesn’t even have cavity walls at all!!!

Absolutely shocking how rude that lad was when I told him to leave me alone. Whoever is behind this really should get looked into.

Got a call saying my loft insulation was old and offered a free inspection, said it was all legit and no cost - yeah, right! Definitely a scam. This kind of thing could be really risky for elderly or vulnerable folks who might end up letting scammers into their homes. How come these dodgy calls are still allowed? They should cut off the numbers straight away and fine the companies giving out these lines to stop this from happening again!

Got a call from someone named Pierre claiming to be from Home Efficiency!! He said their records showed we already had insulation and they wanted to do a free "safety" inspection. They knew our address and names, but we’re on the TPS list, so they’re clearly just ignoring that. I think this is the same lot as “Airtight insulation” who tried to sell spray-on polyurethane insulation a while back and got in trouble for dodgy phone selling and poor quality materials.

I got through to a young woman named Elizabeth Windsor. She kept asking about my address and insulation, then just cut the call off. From what I’ve read in other comments, it’s pretty clear they’re trying to con people. I’m 72, widowed and on my own, so I really don’t want to be getting these annoying calls. It’s kind of suspicious how quickly she ended the call when I started asking questions.

I got calls from 01202084085 last week and again today, and the caller was pretty rude and pushy. They kept saying I need to have my loft insulation inspected and suggested I should get it updated. They wanted to come round tomorrow or the day after. I've told them loads of times I don’t want any visits or inspections, especially with how hectic things are right before Christmas. After looking on this site and seeing others have had the same calls, I can’t believe I almost agreed to let them come in. So glad I stood my ground and said no.

Got a call from Timothy Taylor claiming to be from ATR about my loft insulation. He asked for me by name, but when I asked where exactly he worked, he seemed annoyed and gave me vague info. Said he was only with the firm for 4 days so not used to being questioned. Funny, because someone else on here mentioned him with the same number back in October. I told him I'm on the TPS list and would be reporting the call, plus I'd be requesting a data subject access request to see what info they have on me. Problem is, I can't even find a proper contact for ATR anywhere.

My missus picked up and this woman started chatting about possible issues with cavity insulation. She tried saying it was some sort of government backed thing. Offered a free gadget to check for damp. We had the phone on speaker, and I told my missus to hang up cause it wasn’t a legit government scheme. Sounds like a shady builder just wanting to slip in and SELL you cavity insulation you don't need. If that’s the way they get customers, would you trust them? Nope. Best to avoid them altogether.

They rang my Mum’s number again, trying to sell insulation. She said no thanks and asked them to stop calling, like she’s done loads of times before!

Why is it that I keep getting calls about insulation advice? Honestly, I can find my own info, which is usually more useful and makes more sense, and definitely doesn’t come with the dodgy risks from these lot.

I picked up the phone and a British lady asked if she was talking to a Mr #######. When I told her she had the wrong number, she said sorry and hung up straight away.

This bloke who said he was called "Jordan" rang me up, trying to convince me to get my cavity wall insulation checked for water damage. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he got a bit cheeky (should’ve ended the call right there!). In the end, he just hung up.

They kept ringing saying they were local and offered a free thermal scan of my wall insulation. It was every single day! I finally picked up and gave them my old address, then just blocked the number after.

When I picked up, there was silence for a few seconds so, like I always do, I just ended the call. Pretty clear it was one of those annoying call centre cold calls.

Called me several times but ended the call just as I was about to pick up?

Had a really pushy and quite cheeky caller claiming to be from some company named THO. He wouldn’t respond to any of my questions and just kept cutting me off. Then he turned it around on me, saying I was being rude just because I kept asking what the call was about! Honestly, I’d say don’t bother picking up if you get a call from these!

Proper nuisance, keep getting calls most days from that energy efficiency place.

Got a call from a woman with an English accent selling insulation, but the call got cut off real quick. Just ended up blocking the number anyway.

A lady contacted me regarding conducting a damp survey on my home, claiming it was necessary because of some cavity wall installation done back in the 1970s. She also mentioned that I qualified for a complimentary assessment simply because of my age. I hastily turned her down. Honestly, I don’t require an expert to confirm whether there's dampness in my property - I can see it for myself!

I picked up but nobody spoke on the other end.

Got a call from some cavity wall surveying firm who reckoned the homeowner had reported damp problems, which was total rubbish. Could hear the call centre vibe, so maybe they were legit, but why make stuff up? At best, they're dodgy; at worst, it's a proper scam.

Got a call from someone about insulation stuff. They wanted to verify my info before giving me any details, but when I didn’t want to say if I owned the place, they just ended the call. Never mentioned which company they were with.

I just had a rather bothersome phone call from this number - a rather insistent gentleman who simply wouldn’t let it go. When I mentioned that we were on the Telephone Preference Service list, he brushed it off as if it didn’t matter, claiming he was only trying to assist me! He insisted he wasn’t trying to sell me anything, which I found quite hard to believe. I made it clear that I intended to hang up, yet he continued to ramble away until he finally clocked that I wasn’t engaging with him any longer. I can only imagine how distressing such calls must be for more vulnerable individuals.

This morning, I received a call from this number and it was quite the experience. A rather insistent gentleman was on the other end, inquiring about whether I had cavity wall insulation. He claimed that I could receive a complimentary check-up. When I requested to have my number removed from their records, he had the audacity to call me a rude little lady! I ended the call rather abruptly.

After loads of silent rings, I finally picked up and it was some company pushing energy-saving stuff for insulation. I told them I wasn’t interested, and the guy was pretty decent about it, even thanked me for listening. Not the worst telemarketer experience, but still just a sales call. At least they weren't those annoying, rude nutters from India. Cheers for that.

I've received two phone calls from a woman named Jo within just half an hour. She's been inquiring after my husband, claiming she needs to provide him with some sort of briefing. I informed her he wasn't in at the moment. Shortly after, she called again, this time asking for the owner of the premises, and seemed to forget that she’d already called, wanting to know if he was back yet. I reiterated that this is my home, and then she said she'd try to contact him later. To be honest, I'm not keen on her persistent calls, as I handle all the household matters and find the interruptions rather intrusive.

I received a call from a company purporting to be THI, and the chap on the other end introduced himself as Darren. When I mentioned that my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service and shouldn’t be called, he promptly hung up. Quite clearly, this isn’t a genuine call.

Like a few others here, I’ve also reported these calls to the ICO. They kept saying it wasn’t a sales call and that I must have done some kind of survey. The only survey I ever do is with YouGov - which I assumed was safe - but if it turns out they’re sharing or selling our info, that’s really worrying.

The bloke claiming to be the manager was pretty intimidating. He kept saying he had the right to call a private number. If he got it from the National Energy database, that lot should be embarrassed too. He was rude and just wouldn’t back off, even when I kept asking him where he found my number and details.

Why do they let this go on for ages, causing a right mess for loads of folks? Someone really needs to put an end to it. Like a lot of others, I've had enough of these pushy, rude callers. Ken, Worthing 19/7/18

This bloke keeps ringing me, saying he’s Kevin, some kind of local energy advisor. I told him I’m on the TPS list and don’t want any calls, but he just ended the call. Not impressed.

This number keeps ringing me but never leaves a message. From what I’ve read here and online, it seems like they’re breaking the rules with these unsolicited calls. The caller ID shows it’s a Bournemouth line connected to a firm called Airtight Renewables Ltd (sometimes goes by ATR Bournemouth Ltd). Best to steer clear of them. Just search “Airtight Renewables” and you’ll quickly see the bad reviews. Don’t bother talking to them and make sure you report them to the TPS or ICO.
