The person seemed to have an Indian or Pakistani accent and claimed they were with British Telecom. They told me my internet had been hacked and was accessible to anyone, risking all my personal data, passwords and info. Then they wanted me to open Google so they could assist in securing my connection. When I told him I’d rather ring BT myself to check, he started pushing me to stay on the call, warning that if I didn’t, my internet and phone would be cut off since they were already "fixing" the problem.
