Something odd happened with my mum’s laptop. She suddenly got a pop-up saying something like, "I can assist in unblocking your PC, click here." Unfortunately, she clicked it and then got a call from a guy called Terry using this exact number. He ended up asking her for £800 to fix the computer via her debit card. She got really worried, cancelled the card straight away, then called him back, and he said he would keep working on her computer. I’m guessing she might have unknowingly allowed him to access her system? We’ve powered the laptop off now. Not sure if he still has any access to her bank details or anything else, and I live too far away to check for myself. If anyone knows anything about this number, please share.
