Got a call from a robotic lady claiming to be from HMRC. Sounded really grim and quite scary, trying to intimidate me.

Received a call that claimed to be from HMRC, threatening legal repercussions unless I got myself a solicitor! I was completely caught off guard and felt my heart racing with worry, but once I searched the number online, I felt a massive wave of relief wash over me.

Got this weird automated call claiming to be from HMRC, saying I need to get in touch with them or my lawyer, otherwise there'll be legal trouble. Total scam, don't fall for it!

Got a robo call threatening me about HMRC and saying they'd "see my solicitor." Honestly, what solicitor? I'd be more than happy to confront these clowns myself.

Automatic call with a scam message. Just hang up and block it asap.

Got a call from a weird number, which was a red flag straight away, so I just let it ring off. These jokers then left a dodgy voicemail claiming to be from HMRC warning me not to ignore the message. Apparently, if I don’t ring them back, there’ll be legal action waiting for me (classic scare tactic from HMRC I reckon!). They also mentioned I’d be hearing from my solicitor. Good luck with that, since there isn’t any solicitor on my end!

Got a call saying I'd be arrested over unpaid taxes, and they tried to get me to press 1 to sort out a payment. I've had this happen previously, and I’m pretty sure pressing 1 just opens you up to a scam. So yeah, definitely ignore them and watch out.

This number rang me pretending to be from HMRC. When I picked up the first time, there was nothing but silence, so I ended the call. They called again immediately, and this time an automated voice started talking about some tax fraud issue, warning me I’d be arrested if I didn’t press 1. I’m definitely going to report this because it’s not just a joke, it’s pretty threatening. The genuine HMRC always sends a letter, they wouldn’t call like this.

I got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC and threatening legal action. I’m not sure why they even picked up my number. Should I just ignore it or is it better to report them somewhere? I'm kinda confused about what the right move is here.

Got a missed call from 01200401591, and they left a voicemail claiming to be Janice Quaye from HM Revenue & Customs. She said it was urgent and kept repeating the number, 01200401591, saying it was the hotline for their department. The message warned that if I didn't ring back, or if my solicitor didn't respond, I'd be facing some legal trouble. Seems pretty dodgy to me.

Just had a ring from 01200401591, some robot voice claimed to be HMRC. The call kept cutting out and sounded really dodgy. They said I was in some kind of legal trouble and had to call back another number (didn't bother noting it). I just laughed it off and hung up. Total waste of their time, really.

I got a call for my father-in-law about his tax stuff from 2017 to 2019, something to do with his national insurance and payroll. They even said there was an arrest warrant out for him. Got a call from a woman’s recorded voice saying she was from HMRC, telling me I had a tax fraud case and to press 1 to talk to a ‘special officer’. I pressed 1 and then they asked me to confirm my name! Surely if it was the real HMRC, they’d already know who I am. Definitely a scam!
