I received a rather alarming phone call today from someone who purported to be from HMRC. This fellow was quite aggressive, insisting that I owed him £500 in back taxes and suggesting that if I didn’t hand over the money, I could very well find myself behind bars. The whole thing reeked of a scam, so I promptly ended the call. Seriously, folks, watch out for these dodgy characters!

Someone rang me saying they were with HMRE, but it sounded a bit off to me. Not sure if it’s legit or just another scam. Be careful if you get calls like that!

Got a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC, I played along and gave them fake details. Despite that, they said I still owed £2000. I told them I was an accountant and then they just hung up and blocked my number. Just a heads up, HMRC will never ring you asking for card details!

I didn’t pick up, but later on I got a weird voicemail asking me to ring back straight away.
