So, I got a call after 6pm from someone saying they were with Rand Couriers, claiming there was a Cell C parcel waiting for me. Thing is, we hadn’t ordered anything and the actual Rand Couriers place was already shut. The lady on the phone said her name was Melanie. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Why does he always lie when he rings me? Total rubbish! I don’t owe a single penny to anyone, so what’s the point of his calls? Even SARS has no clue who this guy is... proper scammer. People who try fooling others like this are basically criminals in my opinion! If they really owe money, they should have the guts to be upfront and deal with folks honestly!

Has anyone actually managed to get a refund for this problem?? Been wondering if it’s even possible!

Had the exact same call yesterday... they claimed my last boss deducted too much tax and that SARS was meant to pay me back R6721.00. I phoned SARS, and they had zero record of this on their end, saying I'd have to send in my IRP 5 form. Thing is, I’m not even owed anything. Anyone else dealt with this? What’s the next step?

I got a call from this bloke called Christo Fourie, he somehow had loads of my info. He reckoned I was due R6721 from SARS, something about my old job from six years ago. Good job I double-checked all my old details and didn’t spill any fresh info. Bet he’s hunting for me in the wrong place now! Haha.

I got a call from Christo Fourie, who somehow had all my details - like my ID, old home address and even my old work address. He claimed my previous employer had overpaid PAYE and that he would sort a refund for me at the nearest SARS office. I asked loads of questions and he sounded pretty legit. Now I’m just left wondering what he actually plans to do with all my personal info. Can anyone tell me if this is safe or what I should watch out for?

I got a call from this number too, and the guy told me he works for a firm that tracks down people who haven’t paid their bills and keep avoiding it. He said he’s employed by solicitors, which is why he had all our info. The solicitors pass the details to his company, who then locate and follow up on the debtors. They don’t really care how they do it, as long as the info is correct. He gave me the solicitors' contact, I rang them, and managed to sort everything out. Honestly, some of you complaining should maybe reflect on if you actually owe anything, instead of hiding and acting dodgy. This person isn’t up to anything dodgy; he's just doing his job. I don’t know the guy personally, but he’s not some criminal running scared. So, before you start accusing him of wrongdoing, maybe have a think.

They said they needed to verify my info, which seemed odd since they already had all my details. Turns out the company’s called Horton Mpumalanga, and another phone number linked to them is 011 972 0063. I spoke to a guy named Tjaard van der Walt there, and he said they got our information from the Mpumalanga department, but he wouldn’t tell me exactly who passed it on. Bit fishy if you ask me!

He claimed I was owed R5600 and said he’d be forwarding the claim to my local SARS office. Apparently, they would get in touch for me to pop in with my ID and bank statements from the last 3 months. It sounded pretty convincing, but is this for real? Has anyone actually got the money from them?

He said he needed to talk to me personally. Then he contacted my workplace, saying he was from SARS in Johannesburg, telling them I was due a refund because my old employer supposedly deducted too much PAYE. My employer told him to ring me back since I was busy on another call at the time. But Christo Fourie never called again. When I try to ring this number, it just goes straight to an automated message. What’s really unnerving is how he somehow knew details about my current employer and even mentioned that the company didn’t have a landline number online. Plus, he had loads of info about me. Honestly, it’s making me feel really uneasy!
