Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT but their English was all over the place, sounded dodgy as hell. Pretty clear they were trying to scam me, make sure you report them!

Ugh, these scammers just wont stop ringing me up. I was waiting for a proper call and all I got was these muppets wasting my time. TPS does absolutely nothing about it, and neither do the so-called authorities. They just keep letting it go on and make bank from it. Honestly, the only thing that’ll sort this mess is slapping some big fat fines on the companies letting this rubbish happen.

Had another call from a so-called 'BT' bloke this morning. Honestly, just piss off and try actually contributing to the world; if that's beyond you, then sling yer hook back to where you belong with the rest of the tossers.

So this bloke with an Asian accent rings up saying he's from BT and tells me there's an issue with our internet. I told him we’re actually with Sky and haven’t faced any issues at all. He then got a bit irate, insisting that our connection must’ve been hacked and that BT supplies Sky’s broadband. I kept saying we’re fine. Then he asked how many gadgets were hooked up to the internet right now. That’s when I got suspicious and told him I’m not wasting time chatting about fake problems with some company we don’t even have service with! After that I just ended the call.

Honestly, next time I think I'll be less nice about it. Why is it so hard to get these nuisance callers stopped?

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. I told him I’m not even with BT and before I could say anything else, he just cut me off. Seems like BT should really look into stopping these annoying calls.

So, I got a call from some guy called Alex claiming to be from BT saying my internet would be cut off in two hours. When I asked which company actually provides my internet, he gave me the wrong name. After I called him out on lying, he just said "ok" and I ended the call. I'm ex-directory and on the TPS list, so what a total waste of time!

This was new to me - I ended up cutting him off and he just dropped the call. I was a bit rushed and blunt as soon as he began going on without getting to the point.

Got a call from the same lot of Asian callers around 11:30, saying they were from BT about my internet. I told them I’m actually with Virgin and to stop bothering me because I didn’t believe them. Then they just ended the call.

Got a call from an Asian gentleman saying he was ringing on behalf of BT for my internet. It set me on edge since I am dealing with some internet issues and thought my provider might ring me back, but only on my mobile, not the landline. I couldn’t help sounding doubtful, and when I asked which company he was actually from, he quickly ended the call. Definitely made me suspicious.

I agree with all the replies here, don’t trust them or follow their instructions. I told the guy to call me again in 30 minutes so I could check the number, it was 01189891462. Then he said, “If you don’t trust me, just hang up.” So that’s exactly what I did, ended the call straight away.

So, this morning at 8:40, some bloke named John, sounding like he’s from Manchester BT, rang up saying my IP got hacked or something daft. Same old rubbish, just a new number this time. Honestly, this is the fourth time this week I’ve had calls like this from random numbers. You’d imagine they’d give it a rest and find themselves a proper job!

So, I just got a call from this number, an Asian lady said she was from BT and wanted to chat about my internet. When I started asking questions, she just hung up on me! Got a call like this yesterday too, but it was from another number. Does anyone know how to block these calls for good?

Got a bloke with a fake English name on the line, trying to chat rubbish about my supposed BT internet, which I don’t even have! If these calls are from a ‘reading number’ or whatever, why’s it so hard to catch these scammers and get rid of them, maybe even send them packing? Proper annoying.

A woman called claiming to be from BT, saying my internet had a security problem and that she needed to fix it online. I told her I’m actually with Virgin Media, not BT, so they wouldn’t be able to cut my connection. She soon figured out Virgin is the only other provider. Then she threatened to report me to Virgin so they’d shut off my internet for two months! I ended the call, but she phoned back straight away - same person. I then told her to delete my info from their records under GDPR, but she said it didn’t apply. So I just hung up again.

Watch out, I got a call from 01189 891462 earlier claiming there was an issue with my internet. I don’t actually use BT at all, so I was pretty suspicious straight away. The woman on the phone said her name was Annie, sounded non-native English speaker, and said she was from BT, or British Telecom as she kept calling it. I asked her for the company registration number, and she said she couldn’t share personal info. When I tried to clarify that I meant the company number, she just cut the call. Seems fishy enough to me - probably a scam.

Got a call from some guy with an accent, saying my internet was hacked over the phone line. He said he’d help me sort it out if I logged onto my laptop or desktop. I asked if he’d been ringing others in my village since we all share the same line, but instead of answering, he just kept going on like a broken record. Didn’t trust it, so I ended the call.

They keep ringing my home landline loads of times each day. When I pick up, they either just hang up straight away or put me through to some call centre where some bloke with an asian accent calls himself jim or thomas or some other dodgy name. They try to con you into paying to fix an internet problem that isn’t even there. Best thing is to get on the phone to your provider and have them block the number. The police or whatever don’t seem to care one bit.
