Got a call from some guy, Tom, doing fundraising for Guide Dogs for the Blind. We used to support a puppy through them but they kept ringing up asking for extra donations. After a while, the nonstop calls got too much so we decided to give our support to a different charity instead. This kind of pressure is a bad way to get people involved.

I just got a call today, 5th March, from 01189838270. I picked up because I noticed the 0118 code which is Reading, and my son studies at the uni there. But when I answered, there was nobody talking on the other side.

For years I've suported guide dogs for the blind, donating and raising funds. But lately, this call centre keeps ringing me nonstop, even though I've stopped my direct debit. They keep bugging vulnerable people for extra cash, which is really unfair. Take my advice and stop answering, maybe then they'll pay attention to us who are fed up with these constant calls. Feels less like a charity and more like a business nowadays, they should be made to pay taxes and have their charity status taken away.

Guide dogs keep pestering me for extra cash, they’re proper pushy now. I told them I’m on a pension and can’t afford to give more, but they still won’t remove me from their list. So I’m done supporting them. It’s a really sad situation.

01189838270 - honestly, just ignore these calls! I used to sponsor guide dogs but can't manage it anymore, plus I prefer putting my money towards research that could make a real difference. They ring all the time, so better just block the number. Makes the company look bad in my opinion.

A lady claimed the call was from Guide Dogs for the Blind. I regularly donate to them every month. She somehow knew my name and that my donations go through my husband’s name. Then she asked for my postcode, and that’s when I just put the phone down straight away.

Honestly, I've stopped backing that charity, yet they keep sending me letters and emails. They removed my brother's guide dog, claiming it wasnt properly trained, but they went on saying my brother was the problem. It's unfair cos he had a dog for ten years before and was fine with it.

Because of that annoying call, I cancelled my membership and sent a message to the Data Protection Officer at Guide Dogs for the Blind. I doubt anything will come of it though!! There has to be some way to put an end to this madness!!

Proper fed up with these calls now, so I’ve quit donating to this charity and a few others that constantly hound for cash. Bit of a shame really, but they seem to run more like a business than a proper charity, blowing donations on call centres ringing up for more instead of using it to train guide dogs or support other worthy causes.

I already support a guide dog and after seeing what others said, I blocked the number. Its been a few weeks and I still get about one call every week. I'm thinking of stopping my sponsorship now, which is a bit sad, but they need to understand theres a limit to what people can give.

Guide Dogs For The Blind. I’d been sponsoring them for almost 4 years but had to stop recently because I needed funds to cover a vet bill that cost nearly £3000, so I had to prioritise. I told them I’d get back in touch when I was in a better spot financially, which wouldn’t be for a few months. That was just 4 days ago yet I've had multiple calls from them already. When I finally picked up, they were pushing me to start sponsoring again! Honestly, it’s ridiculous 😠
