I had a rather dubious phone call earlier from a chap with a strong Indian accent, asserting they were from the BT tech support division. He mentioned issues with signals coming from my router and requested remote access to my computer. It struck me as fishy since I’m not even a BT customer! I’m convinced it wasn’t a genuine mistake, especially as he had my full name at his fingertips. Quite the dodgy business, if you ask me!

Morning calls always put me on edge. So when my phone rang early and I answered without saying a word, the caller just hung up. I didn’t actually put the phone down, just let it rest off the hook for about five minutes. Felt like I was wasting money keeping their line engaged!

I got a call from 01189766422 saying there was an issue with our internet, claiming to be from BT. Thing is, we're actually with Virgin. Now they keep ringing nonstop, like every five minutes. What should I do? So annoying!

Somebody rang me saying they were from Openreach, dealing with problems with my broadband which had been playing up recently. I was a bit more trusting than I probably should’ve been at first. It wasn’t until they mentioned I could get a refund and asked for my bank info that I got suspicious. They tried calling me again later, but when I asked them for a number to ring back at a better time, they just hung up and I haven’t had any calls from them since.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Openreach about some internet issue that doesn’t actually exist at my place. The bloke was from India, but honestly, can’t say he was polite - the stuff he said was proper nasty once I started messing with him. Wish I’d hit record, 'cos the language was shocking. Then, out of nowhere, he just ended the call. I threw every rude insult I could think of his way, and I have to admit, it was pretty satisfying winding him up.

Somebody rang up saying they were from BT's tech support, telling me hackers were trying to get into my internet. They told me to get on my computer, but when I sounded suspicious, they just ended the call straight away.

Got another automated call about my BT internet being cut off yet again. It’s mad how they keep ringing from who knows how many different numbers! The options were to press 1 to speak to BT or 2 to actually disconnect my internet. Strange situation.

I got a call from a bloke in India saying he was with TalkTalk, telling me there was a problem with my router. He started asking for my username and password, but I didn’t give him any info. I’ve since rung up TalkTalk myself to make sure it was legit, and it wasn’t.

Got a call from a man claiming to be with BT, saying there was an issue with my router. I told him that wasn’t right. When I asked for his phone number, he didn’t want to share it. I said if he was legit BT, he’d have no problem giving it. Then he reluctantly gave me a number starting with 00, which I knew wasn’t a BT number. I told him straight he wasn’t from BT and hung up. Did a 1471 check and the number showed as 01189766422.
