I just got a call from 01189049487, seemed like a scam pretending to be from the DWP. Usually, they ring from 0800 numbers. Just thought I’d report it, thanks!

So I didn’t answer this call earlier, tried calling back but it just rang out and no one picked up. From what I saw in an earlier message, I’ve got a DWP appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Fingers crossed they’ll ring me as expected then, cos if they mark me down for missing the call it might affect my PIP claim and get it ended due to a missed phone appointment. Pretty worried about that happening tbh.

So they rang me again after my last message. Turns out it’s definitely the DWP checking in about a phone appointment I’ve got scheduled with them for tomorrow. I mentioned I’d tried returning the call, but they told me their line can’t take incoming calls.

A lady phoned during the night when I was asleep with a migraine. My family member, whom I care for, answered it and at first thought it was one of their support workers. The caller was asking for confirmation about a dp appointment supposedly scheduled for tomorrow at our house. But there isn’t any appointment set for tomorrow. Since waking up, I’ve tried calling them back loads of times, but it just keeps ringing out. Meanwhile, the family member is really distressed and has even tried to find knives to hurt themselves.

Received a call from this number at precisely 1:45 in the afternoon on Thursday, 28th January 2016, but they didn't leave any voicemails. Curiosity got the better of me, so I rang the number back and discovered it was just a courtesy call from the PIP assessment centre over in Reading, simply confirming my upcoming appointment.
