I received a phone call from someone who introduced himself as part of the technical team at BT Openreach. He mentioned that there seemed to be a few hiccups with my internet connection, stating that it had been running unusually sluggishly.

Been getting loads of calls from this number and some others, all claiming there’s been dodgy stuff going on with my IP. It’s definitely a scam, so just don’t bother answering or hang up right away if you do.

On 15th Oct 2020 at about 9 in the morning, I got a call from a guy with a strong accent claiming to be with Virgin Media. He said there was a problem with my internet and the signal was weak, asked if I'd noticed it. I just replied 'okay' once, and he went on repeating the same thing. After I said 'okay' again, he ended the call.

Not sure who it was but they ended the call right when the voicemail started. Seems dodgy and like the others said, probably best to just ignore it as a scam. Feels risky to me.

Had a call from an Asian guy yesterday about my internet, but today it was an Asian lady ringing. When she launched into her spiel I cut her off saying she’s a scam, told her I’d checked with Sky and reported her to the cops. She was off the line so fast it was laughable! 😂

Had a couple of calls today. The first one was from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT Openreach. Then I got another call but no one spoke, just loads of background noise that reminded me of a call centre. Pretty fishy if you ask me.

Got a call saying there was an issue with my internet, I just ended the call straight away.

I got a quiet call on my landline and when I answered, there was nothing but silence, then it just cut off after a minute. Then, maybe ten minutes later, a call showed up from 019328477738. The person said they were from BT Open Reach but the way they spoke sounded odd, like they were faking an English accent or something, so I just hung up.

I found it a little suspicious when they couldn't even say my name right away.

This number rang me but no one said a word, just silence. I kept listening and could catch some faint noises like a call centre in the back. After a moment I asked, 'Is this a #####?' since I heard someone breathing, and right after that, they cut the call straight away!

There was a lot of background noise, sounded like a call centre. The call went like this: She said, "Madam, your internet's about to go down." I replied, "Oh no, what should I do?" She snapped, "Do you think this is funny?" I said, "No, I just need some instructions." Then she told me to "go f##k yourself." I asked, "Would that really help?" She repeated, "go f##k yourself." I said, "I hope this call is recorded because your advice doesn't seem helpful." She called me a "b###h" and then this very polite Asian lady just hung up on me.

Just got called by this new number, said it was Virgin Media about my internet. But actually this is the fifth time I've been rung by different numbers from all over the UK in the past week! Every time it's the same sort of Asian accent and it's definitely a scam. Be careful, these lot aren’t to be trusted, looks dodgy to me!

Got a call from a woman with a thick Indian accent, mentioned something about Sky and working on my router. She was babbling so fast I barely understood. Asked her to slow down and kept asking why they were messing with my router. Then she just hung up on me.

i got a call from someone who had a really thick accent, maybe indian or pakistani, claiming to be from virgin media about slow internet. we just ignored most of what they said and hung up straight away. then, within a couple of hours, another call came through from 01252 26160201494 297243. didnt trust it at all.

Got a call just now from someone claiming to be Sky, saying they wanted to check my internet connection. The call dropped for a second, so I asked her to say it again, and she ended up swearing at me, calling me a horrible name and telling me to shut up. I just ended the call right there.

Answered the phone and it just went quiet. Got a very similar call a few days ago from another number, someone claimed the local broadband’s been rubbish. That’s not true though, we’ve got decent fibre optic internet from Virgin. I checked the number and it supposedly belongs to Array Display in Reading. Feels like maybe the number's been used fraudulently or copied by scammers.

Got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent claiming to be from Sky's tech support - problem is, we don't even have Sky. Before that, had a blank call from 01470328371. That morning, my son's card got used fraudulently but luckily the bank acted fast and blocked it. Traced the card misuse to Westminster and noticed that same number popping up there too. We live in Scotland so just want to warn others to watch out for this.
