Just picked up a call from this number. They asked for me, so I asked who it was (“National Advice Clinic” or something like that). I said, “Hold on a sec, I’ll get her,” but didn’t actually go get anyone. I just left the phone on the windowsill and got on with my stuff. After about five minutes, I ended the call! A woman rang, said she was calling from some Ipswich company (I do live in Ipswich), and claimed they knew I'd worked in a factory a while back (which isn't true). I told her about the TPS and she cut me off before I could even finish talking.

Just had a rather dodgy phone call from this number. The chap on the other end of the line was claiming that his records showed I was employed in a factory. Got a call from them today, claiming they know I worked in the Industry and have my name and address. I told them to get lost and not to ring me again. They called back 3 more times after that. We had a few more words, and I warned them if they called again I’d give them a mouthful. Now they're threatening to come round and sort me out. I’m looking forward to that meeting. They really haven’t got a clue who they’re dealing with or what I’m capable of.

I’ve observed that nearly every time, around 90% of the calls from these unfamiliar numbers go silent upon answering. It seems that most of them are automated systems that only react when they detect a voice; if there’s no response, they simply disconnect! However, he then went on to address me using my mother’s name.
