I got a call from 01183520680, telling me I owed money. This number seems to be all over the place. They basically said if I didn’t share my info, there was no way they could assist me.

This is Yell we’re dealing with here. Their approach to customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Once you express disinterest, they just ramble incessantly, often interrupting you, and even if you manage to cut them short, they’ll harass you daily until you pick up. If you say something when you pick up (or just make a sound) it’ll connect you to an operator - could be a laugh or just leave them chatting alone. I like to pick up and make them hang around, rather than just block the call. Sometimes you gotta fight back in their own game.

Yell[###] keep ringing me with the same "updating our records" spiel, and if you say you’re not interested or can’t assist, they just carry on blabbering through their script. So frustrating! I’ve had loads of calls from them this week. Def recommend blocking this number if you can, especially if you’re running a business and want your team to focus instead of wasting time on these annoying telemarketers. Looks like most of these calls come from overseas call centres anyway, so don’t expect them to follow any of the UK telemarketing rules.

I’m not sure but everything seems to be coming from YELL[###]. I’ve never signed up with them and my number is on the Telephone Preference Service list, so I reckon they’re breaching the rules by ringing me out of the blue. If they ring me once more, I’ll note down who it is and report it to the TPS.

I received a rather bizarre call this morning, and I must admit it left me quite perturbed. The chap on the other end insisted I was some sort of herbalist and claimed my phone number was listed on yell.com. Now, considering it was bright and early, and I hadn’t even had my breakfast, I was rather baffled, thinking to myself, “What on earth is he rambling on about?” Naturally, I told him he had the wrong number. He retorted rather aggressively, affirming that my number was indeed on that list. After wrapping up the call, I promptly checked the official yell website, and thankfully, my number wasn’t listed anywhere. That was a relief, but I can’t shake off the anxiety his call stirred up. It’s particularly vexing since he continues to ring me, and I’ve been ignoring the number. I’ve lost count, but he’s called me at least six times in the past week! Any advice on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated!
