Got a call from someone saying they were Microsoft, and they even knew my name. Usually, I try to be nice with these calls, but this time I got fed up and shouted back at them. They weren’t happy about it and started yelling too, so I just ended the call then.

Someone phoned me with an asian accent claiming my home appliance insurance had run out. I said they were the twentieth person to ring me about that in the past fortnight. I told him he should find a proper job rather than spending all day trying to trick people over the phone. Then I got a bit angry and told him to stop messing about and hang up.

Looks like this is another one of those Microsoft scams going around. I reckon this number is connected to others like 01273311511, 01993220401, and 02039559844 - all the same Microsoft scam rubbish. The real question is, what on earth is Microsoft doing to stop these scammers ringing people?

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, even knew my computer’s make and registration details. They said there was an issue with my PC. I told them straight away I wasn’t falling for their scam and they hung up on me. Seems like this scam is run from loads of different numbers. Best advice is never to share any info, and if you can, block the number or just don’t pick up.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft saying my computer was under attack. They wanted me to switch the computer on and gave me some kind of licence number for it. It all sounded pretty convincing at first but I didn’t go along with it. Then she told me she was going to block the computer because it was supposedly unsafe.

Pretty sure it was just a call centre. The lady claimed she was ringing from Microsoft and somehow had loads of my info already, which made me flag it as dangerous because some folks might think it's legit. She said a laptop at my place has been sending error alerts to Microsoft about account access from abroad - total nonsense. Seeing loads of comments about this number, it's a mystery why it’s still active. Aren’t there any GDPR rules to stop these sort of calls?

I had an incessant caller today who rang a whopping thirteen times this afternoon! I picked up the first call, and strange personal inquiries were thrown at me. As soon as I hung up, the phone just wouldn’t stop buzzing, with twelve more calls following in quick succession. We decided it was best not to answer any of those after the first odd exchange.

I received a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. She insisted my computer was involved in some dodgy activities. When I expressed my disbelief, she had the audacity to question my intelligence and asked if I even knew what "compromised" meant! Got a ring from this number today. The woman on the line knew my name and address, and even rattled off some kind of computer licence ID to make it seem legit. She was pretty intimidating, telling me my computer was gonna be shut down if I didn’t cough up for supposed violations. I received a rather alarming phone call from someone purporting to be Jack Rose from Microsoft, insisting that my computer was involved in some illegal shenanigans. Naturally, I was sceptical and asked him how I could possibly know he was genuine. In response, he shared his name and began rattling off an address, which is readily available on the internet. However, things took a turn for the worse when I requested a contact number to return his call; he became quite aggressive. When I did ring the number he provided, all I got was a monotonous recorded message inviting me to leave a voicemail, which loops endlessly before abruptly cutting off. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

A chap claiming to be Dan Lewis from Microsoft reached out to me, asserting that he was addressing my concerns regarding my computer crashing. He had my name and was even able to provide my Microsoft licence number, which I can't verify just yet. He took the time to explain how to check if I might have inadvertently allowed a pesky bug into my system. Just as he was getting into the details, I had to tend to a doctor's call, so he promised to ring back the following day at the same hour. This call was traced back to Reading, but interestingly, today my wife received two calls from Witney (Oxfordshire) that she chose not to answer [0203955980711; 01993220401]. I’m not certain if it was a communications outfit on the hunt for new clients, but it is rather peculiar, as this is the first time I've encountered such unsolicited calls. I certainly won’t be engaging with him again.

Somebody rang me saying they were with Microsoft and asking if I owned a computer. I told them no, then they went on to ask if I had a laptop. Again, I said no and then asked why they were bothering me. The signal was awful, and I could barely make out what she was saying but it sounded like there was some sort of issue. She kept pushing me to answer her questions, but I wasn’t having it. I’m fairly certain this number’s called me before, so no way I was handing over any details!

When I answered, there was a long silence then the bloke claimed he was calling from Microsoft. I cut him off and ended the call straight away. Had a quick look online, now I’ve blocked the number.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent, claiming to be from Microsoft. She got really annoyed when I refused to let her access my computer for some “verification” thing. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft saying my PC was hacked and it’d be shut off unless I let them “fix” it. They even warned I’d have to travel to Reading to sort it out if I didn’t comply. When I said I’d report it to the police, the person started shouting and then just ended the call.

Got a call from someone calling himself "Steve" claiming to be from BT Broadband. When I said I wasn’t with BT for my internet, he insisted I was. I told him again that yes, I do have broadband but not through BT. Then he bragged about how BT supposedly offers the best service. Before I could say more, he just cut off. Could hear some voices in the background like he was running through the same script with others.

I received a call from someone purporting to represent Microsoft, insisting there was an issue with my Windows 10. They said they would provide me with the licence key, but in previous encounters they had only given me a 23-digit number, which anyone can find in their computer's files. The proper licence code should have 25 characters. Feeling dubious, I ended the call. She immediately called back, quite irate, demanding to know why I had hung up. I opted to terminate the conversation yet again! This is at least the second or third time I’ve encountered these fraudulent callers employing the same ruse, albeit from varying numbers.

Got a call from a bloke who sounded like he was from up north, maybe in his late 30s. Kept saying "Hello" over and over but in a really rude way. Then the call just dropped out.

My PC running Windows is in dire need of some repairs. If anyone happens to see this, just a heads up-Microsoft Windows will never give you a call. Take care and stay safe!

This lady, with an Indian accent, called me claiming to be from Microsoft, telling me my computer was under attack by hackers. When I mentioned I’d be reporting this to the police and filing a complaint against the number, she just cut the call. Be careful out there!

Had a right bother with a dodgy Microsoft call today! They were less than pleased with my responses, and when I pointed out their appalling grasp of English, they lost the plot. The chap had the nerve to label me some choice names and told me to shove it before hanging up. I’d say I came out on top this time! 😄

Got a call at 8:16 in the morning but it just went straight to voicemail and no message was left. I've seen this number pop up before - it's one of those typical scam calls. Usually, I tell them I don’t have anything to do with Microsoft, which seems to really irritate them. Classic scammers.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft saying my computer had a virus. They went on to say I didn’t actually own a computer, but somehow knew my personal info. When I told them their English was terrible and I couldn’t follow, the bloke just lost it, calling me a proper rude name and then told me to get lost before slamming the phone down. Such a cheeky scam attempt!

I just got a call from someone claiming my computer got hacked and unless I gave them access, they’d supposedly block my internet. They said Microsoft won’t let me use a computer at all if it’s been compromised. Sounded like a total scam to me.

Got a call at 08:16 but it just went straight to voicemail, and they didn’t leave anything. I think this number is linked to one of those scams - in the past my old Microsoft software picked up similar calls. Whenever I tell them I’m not with Microsoft, they seem to get pretty frustrated.
