I received a call claiming to be from my bank, yet they never mentioned which bank nor addressed me by name. They went on about two payments to Amazon—one for £300 and another for £1000—both supposedly processed today. I was instructed to ring the number they provided if I didn’t recognise those transactions, to speak with a 'staff member'. Sounds like a bit of a dodgy scheme to me.

I decided to ring this number again because they insisted that I’d booked a trip to Edinburgh, which I most certainly hadn’t. When I spoke to the gentleman on the line, he sounded rather irked and mentioned he was tired of receiving calls from folks inquiring about their identity. It’s fair to say I suspect it might be some sort of scam at play here.
