Callers sometimes target vulnerable or elderly people. Multiple calls in a single day and use of wrong dialling codes are common. She claimed that I’d already chatted with one of her coworkers before, but that just didn’t sound right to me.

Got a call from someone claiming they’re from Guildford about some kind of grant for solar panel batteries. Total scam, just another dodgy one to keep track off.

Got calls from this number about 10 times today even though I never picked up. They said something about giving out £1500 for home improvements through the greener homes grant - problem is, that grant has been scrapped ages ago!

As soon as the automated voice asked for a name, the person hung up straight away. Definitely seems like a dodgy scam call to me.

I've had loads of calls from different numbers, all looking for the same person. I've told them several times that they've reached a business, but they just won't stop ringing. Does anyone know how to make them quit?

They wanted to talk to my husband, but I told them I dont have one.

Since we've had our solar panels for more than 8 years, they told us we qualify for a grant.

Just like others have mentioned, I got a call from a man named “Robert Sinclair” who spun a pretty dodgy story about some Ofgem funding for solar panel users - supposedly to get storage batteries or swap out a boiler. He sounded like he knew our setup well and promised someone would ring again tomorrow with a brochure from Ofgem. But when I checked their website, there’s absolutely no sign of this scheme anywhere. He didn’t ask for much info aside from confirming how many panels we had. Definitely keep your guard up.

Today I got a call from someone named Robert Sinclair. I picked up, but as soon as he mentioned a Government grant, I told him I wasn’t interested and quickly hung up. This isn’t the first time he’s tried calling me either!

Got a call earlier from this number claiming they were from some government office in Dorchester about grants for solar panels I supposedly had. The dialling code was wrong though, so it was clearly a load of rubbish.

I just got a call from a guy named Robert Sinclair claiming he’s from some “Government Grant Centre”. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he started swearing and then just slammed the phone down. Definitely a scam, best to ignore and put the phone down straight away.

I got a call from someone saying there was a grant from "Ofgen" for new boilers or battery storage, but only if you have solar panels older than 8 years and are on a feed-in tariff. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Kept getting calls but no one left a message. Gonna block the number now.

He actually knew our last name and asked if he could speak to my husband. Said his name was Robert Sinclair. Told us about some government grant worth £1500, said it could be used to cover energy bills or maybe help with home improvements to save energy. Sounds dodgy to me, especially after seeing what others have said here!

This guy was really pushy about us getting our panels looked at, kept saying there’s a grant of £1100 available if we do it. Proper insistent bloke.

This number has been calling me on and off for ages now. They keep talking about solar panels, like they’ve been in my life for over eight years (which we definitely don’t have). They mentioned some so-called government grant, just endless nonsense. They asked for my husband by name, so I told them he’d passed away three years ago (which is true) and that I wasn’t falling for any scams. Then I just ended the call. I can imagine this kind of thing could be really worrying for older folks who might get confused.

They had a message to press a button only if you were family, but i just ignored it. Such a dodgy thing to do.

I received a rather bothersome call today regarding solar panel fittings and grants for boiler replacements. To be honest, the line was quite poor, and I struggled to catch what the caller was saying.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from Ofgem about a grant. Felt like it was probably a scam.

Just like many others, my elderly mum got a call from someone claiming they’d pay her £2000 to swap the circuit board in her boiler, saying it was linked to solar panels she supposedly had installed seven years back. When she refused, the caller asked why she was panicking. Then he bumped the offer up to £7000, but every time she said no, he just got more rude and aggressive. We’re now blocking the number for good.

Got a call about some solar panel scheme, said it was linked to a government grant or something. I told the guy I thought it sounded like a scam and to take my info off their list. Before I could finish, he just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

Someone rang saying they were with SEGT, talking about my solar panels and how I could supposedly get paid 15p per kWh instead of just 4.5p. They actually asked if they could come inside to explain it all! I told them no. When they pressed me on why not, I just said I didn’t need to explain myself. After that, I ended the call and blocked the number.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the "Government Grand Centre" or something like that, talking about government grants through Ofgem for putting in home batteries or new heating. They actually knew the full name and age of our solar panels, which was a bit creepy. They were quite polite, especially when I told them we weren't interested, but I don’t think the whole story was legit.

I got a call from someone saying his name was Robert Sinclair, said he was a civil servant from Reading. But he was actually pushing a private firm called "The Renewable Heat Company" on behalf of OFGEM. Not buying it at all.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a local council in Cambridge, saying there’s a new Ofgem grant for getting your boiler replaced or adding battery backup to your solar setup. They said because I’ve had solar panels for more than 8 years, I’m eligible. Turns out the details they used came from the company that sold me the solar system years ago before they went bust. Total spam. Just put them straight in the blocked list...
