Got a call at 9:46pm on Friday, I ignored it. Now I’ve been charged more than £70 for a 2-hour 28-minute call I never even made. Proper rip off! Avoid answering any calls coming from 0118 numbers.

They rang me on my mobile today at 3:57pm UK time. I picked up but there was no one there. Since the 0118 code is for Reading, Berkshire, where I live, I decided to call back from my landline thinking it might be someone local I know. The call-back message was an automated one saying "you were called by first4legal[###]" but no other details. Sounds like one of those scam calls trying to catch people up over a supposed “accident” that never happened. Won't be answering if they ring again and I’m going to block the number.

Really annoyed they had my full name and phone number, when i picked up some lady asked for me by name. I didnt say anything so she just ended the call. I dont know anyone from Reading. It’s awful how many scammers and unwanted calls you get, have to keep blocking all these random numbers just to have some quiet.

Had about 4 legal-sounding, but totally dodgy calls claiming I’d been in some car incident. They somehow got my work number. I just let loose with a load of swearing and told the woman to get a real job and stop hassling me, or I’d track down where she worked and find out her name to dig up all her socials online… that seemed to shut them right up.

I didn’t pick up but when I rang back there was voicemail from First4Legal. Companies House says the business has been dissolved. From what I can see on here, they used another number before and there’s some poor reviews. I reckon they might be chasing something to do with a car crash from ages ago. If they’re a new firm I can’t say how they handle things, but it’s still a pain getting random calls like this.
