They've rung me a few times but never bother leaving a message. I don’t pick up numbers I don’t know. Plus, if it was something important, surely they’d leave a voicemail? They actually called me while I was in France.

I wasn’t around to pick up, but they’ve rung me a few times now. It’s more than a hassle at this point. Just buzz off - maybe to the moon or something!

Just got a call on me mobile from some woman with a posh English accent, maybe from London, talking some rubbish about an "accident". She kept bringing up some company name I didn’t catch properly. It really wound me up straight away. Proper annoying stuff.

I just had a call from this number and it’s obviously another scam. My recommendation would be to steer clear and not pick up if you see this number pop up. Just avoid it altogether!

Got a call from someone asking if I’d been involved in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. Then she handed me over to her manager who asked how I was doing. I replied, “Not great, actually - since the accident, I’m dead.” (That’s my go-to reply for these types of calls). He just hung up straight away!!

Got a call from a woman who sounded really robotic, asking if I’d been in any accidents over the past few years. When I asked how they got my details and what the call was about, they just ended the call straight away. Bit worrying, if you ask me.

Can someone please report this number to ico.org.uk? We need to get them stopped.

This number used to do the Microsoft scam, but now it's switched to a car insurance scam. They use an automatic system that rings you and if you answer yes, they put you through to a real person, but if you say no, they just end the call. They try to get your personal info after that. When I asked them to take me off their list and where they got my number, they just disconnected me.

Got a call from a bloke named 'Stuart Wilson' speaking with a strong Asian accent, saying he was from Microsoft. When I questioned him, he warned me he’d lock my computer if I didn’t comply. I kept refusing and he started getting really rude and pushy. So, I just ended the call!

I received a rather intrusive call from this number earlier today. The chap on the other end had a distinct Indian accent and was rather insistent that I should switch on my husband’s computer. I feigned ignorance, claiming I didn't know how to do that. After I hung up, he rang me again, strangely mentioning he had just been speaking to an elderly lady. He continued his rather aggressive approach, warning me that my computer would be locked if I didn't follow his instructions. I pretended I was incapacitated and couldn’t move downstairs. He insisted they were closing at four, so it was imperative I complied with his demands. In the end, I simply placed the phone down until he eventually disconnected. It was incredibly rude and quite unsettling, especially when I'm not feeling my best. Truly unpleasant experience.

I received a call from a chap with a strong Indian accent, and I must say his English was rather difficult to comprehend. He claimed to be representing Microsoft and insisted that my computer was on the brink of a crash. He requested that I switch on my computer, but I told him that I wasn't in front of it at the moment and would reach out to him when I found some spare time. I decided to wrap up the conversation there. Cheers, EL.

Got a call from 01183287053 earlier, some person pretending to be from Microsoft. Told me to do some steps but there’s no way I was falling for that scam. Played along for a bit to waste their time. The woman got annoyed and said she’d block my computer if I didn’t comply. After a while, I asked her name, she said Hazel, but sounded like she had an Indian accent. Seriously, don’t let them trick you.

Got a call on my home phone from someone named 'Oliver' saying he was from the Microsoft Tech Support team and wanted to talk to whoever uses the computer at the house. I said no one was around but said I'd ring back later. When they insisted, the caller, who sounded like a young American guy, gave me this number. Pretty sure it was a scam, so I've passed the details on to the local police's cyber crime department.

I received a call that flashed up as "WITHHELD" on my phone. The person on the other end was supposedly from the Windows Technical Department-how original! Naturally, I managed to extract the number mentioned above by agreeing to ring them back. It’s imperative that we report these kinds of calls to Trading Standards if we have any hope of putting an end to this notorious swindle. I have a strong inkling that if one allows them access to their computer, they could easily swipe your data, funds, or, at the very least, install dubious software onto your device.

He said his phone number was 01183287053. When I told him he was pulling a scam, he kept claiming he was with Microsoft and said he could prove it by giving me my computer’s registration number. No clue what he was on about, but the number he gave wasn’t anything like a Windows activation key. I reckon he wanted me to type something in that matched the number he gave to trick me into believing he was legit. I asked him if he knew what http and ftp meant and he had no clue. Then he threatened to block my PC, so I told him to go ahead, and well, my computer's still running just fine.

Just got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, really pushy about needing to access my computer or else they'd shut it down to stop virus spread. Funny how Microsoft is apparently so worried about viruses - if they actually shut down infected PCs automatically, then I guess no viruses would exist at all!

Some woman with a thick asian accent, calling herself Amanda Parker, said she was from Microsoft. She claimed my PC was showing errors connected to Microsoft servers and said I'd been hacked. She asked for my computer ID. When I asked for her manager's name and number (Clifford Dawson), she got really rude and started shouting. I told her I'd call Microsoft to verify before continuing, and she threatened I'd keep getting calls like that if I didn’t comply. I hung up and called Microsoft myself, and it’s definitely a scam.

some bloke with a thick indian accent rang me calling me "mark lewis". said he was from microsoft and needed to access my computer to fix security problems. used to mess about with these calls back in the day. acted like I was doing what they asked, then told them about odd error messages. quite amusing to throw them off. but now I just ignore them. don’t buy the idea that this is harmless at all. these people want money and will either try to steal your bank or login info or put ransomware on your PC. definitely treat these calls like a serious threat.
