I received a call supposedly from BT, claiming they had identified an issue with my internet connection. The chap, who spoke with an Indian accent, introduced himself as Jack Watson. Interestingly, just the day before, a woman with a London number phoned me, warning that I would soon lose both my phone and internet service. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Received a call claiming to be from O2, requesting my email and bank information. I wisely chose not to share any details. The number that showed up was a reading number, which doesn't correspond to any genuine O2 digits, and as a customer myself, I recognised it as a scam.

Claimed to be from BT, but when I asked for proof, they tried to get me to ring a different number, 01490340408, to check their BT ID. Quite the clever tactic, I must say! Naturally, that other number has no ties to BT at all. I ended up keeping them on the phone for a good seven minutes before I finally hung up. What a ridiculous situation!

Claimed to represent my grandmother’s bank and insisted on confirming a transaction with her. What a bunch of thieves!

I was keen for my old dad to get onto the computer and provide some information. Fortunately, I was around to intercept the call. I promptly told them to jog on, as they were clearly up to no good, and cut the line. But wouldn’t you know it, they promptly rang back! So, I had the delightful opportunity to give them a piece of my mind once more. Don’t fall for their tricks!

I received a rather alarming call intended for my elderly mother from someone named Bella. This person claimed that the internet was not private and that it was being used by others. She bizarrely instructed my mum to switch on my late father’s laptop, who sadly passed away just two months prior. My mother, understandably flustered and clueless about technology, said she'd pass on the message to me as it was causing her great distress. Upon my return call, Bella insisted that I hurry over to my mum's place to power up the laptop. I informed her that I was at work and firmly stated that she wasn’t affiliated with BT and I wouldn’t disclose any personal details unless she provided something in writing. This seemed to set her off, and she became quite curt, claiming she would simply call my mum again before hanging up. I’ve now blocked that number. Please, take care not to fall victim to such reprehensible tactics!

They’re conducting a survey, and I must say, they’re splendid individuals-extremely helpful and quite friendly!

I received a call from a lady named Bella who had a chat with my partner, but he ended up cutting the conversation short. She promptly rang us back, claiming our internet was set to public rather than private and that there were folks attempting to gain access. I played along, allowing her to continue her spiel, but I had no intention of heading to Google to verify our IP address. I made it clear on two occasions that I was sceptical about her being from BT, especially since she provided this number for verification. After looking into it on this site, it’s evident it’s a scam. I mean, honestly, wouldn’t BT handle such matters quietly without needing to ring us?
