i got a call from someone claiming my laptop was under attack and they needed to get in to fix it. when i started asking stuff, they said i was being a pain and it was all to help me. i ended the call but then they rang me again, sounding threatening and saying they’d lock me out of this and any future computers i get.

An Indian bloke called me saying my PC was hacked. He said he’d got my Windows 40 licence number to prove he’s with Microsoft. Seemed fishy to me.

I had this bloke from India calling me, pushing me to follow his instructions quick. I felt it was dodgy, so I played along and asked him which one of my ten computers he was supposedly hacking. He said all of them! When I asked for his contact number, he gave me 01183282243. Pretty obvious it was a con. I've already reported him to Action Fraud.

scam alert - stephanie price called me with the usual spiel about “your computer is infected, microsoft servers are warning about hackers”. totally the same nonsense everyone else has reported.

Interestingly, today he introduced himself as Sean Wilson, which is a bit out of character for someone from that crowd. Quite peculiar, I must say...

Back on 15th August 2016, I got a call from someone named Stephanie Price with an American accent. It definitely felt dodgy, like some kind of scam. I reckon the police should be alerted about this.

Some guy rang me up saying my computer was hacked and supposedly Microsoft got breached. He said they couldn’t send me an email to prove who they were because the hackers would just delete it. Claimed the hackers had total access to my PC but then suddenly asked if I could let him take control remotely! Haven’t called back since.

I received a call from a chap named "David Williams," who had a distinctly Asian accent, claiming to be from Microsoft. He mentioned an issue with my operating system, which strikes me as quite peculiar since I solely use Macs! He said he would call me back, and that’s how I ended up with the number. A quick search online revealed that it’s a scam. I chose not to respond and have reported the number.

Received a dodgy call regarding an issue with my computer. They purported to be from Oracle based in Berkshire, yet claimed to represent Apple Support? Quite the mix-up! Fortunately, as a software developer myself, I decided to keep them on the line for a good 15 minutes. At least that meant they couldn't con someone else during that time. What a waste of their resources!

For the past three days, I've been inundated with calls purporting to be from Microsoft. I even went as far as to inform them that their operation seemed dodgy, yet they insisted that everything was above board! It's baffling how relentless they are.

Just like the posts below, I received a call from someone asserting that they'd been receiving automatic error reports related to Microsoft for weeks without my knowledge. Quite curious, if you ask me, especially considering that the computer in question hasn’t been switched on during that period (it’s been down for around two months now). They went on about some household I.D. that supposedly is under my mum's name, which I find laughable as it would most certainly be under my dad’s if that were true. I had a delightful exchange with “John” on the line, who clearly sensed I wasn’t buying his spiel. I took the opportunity to explain precisely why he was talking utter drivel. It was rather satisfying to chew up 15 minutes of their time - would definitely recommend this amusing experience to mates!

I received a rather dodgy call claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer had been compromised. They insisted that if I forked out £400, they'd sort it all out and get me some 'compensation.' Total scam if you ask me!
