Someone rang saying they were my local energy advisor, something along the lines of Thermal Homes, and said they’d got my number from a UK Property Home list. When I told them I’m on the telephone preference service they said sorry and hung up. Seems like a dodgy energy scam to me.

That’s rather peculiar, isn’t it? My landline number had been associated with my email through EE. Out of the blue, they altered my number without so much as a heads-up! Their address listed is 2nd Floor Partnership House, Carlisle Place, London, England, SW1P 1BX, with company number 09293520 from Companies House. If the phone number isn’t provided by BT, it’s very likely to be a scam. Personally, I’ve set my phone to block all 0118 numbers since that’s far from here and I don’t know anyone in Reading!

Got a call from 0118 325 8703 on 13/08/2021 at about 1:34pm. Even though my number’s on the UK TPS list, they still ring me up about an accident that I haven’t been involved in. I mentioned the TPS to the person on the line, and he said he knew about it but claimed this wasn’t a sales call. Then he went on to ask if I wanted help claiming compensation!
