Absolutely, Redstar! I picked up my phone, and he straightaway requested to speak to me by name. I couldn't resist a chuckle and told him I wasn't available. He then inquired if I could arrange for the intended person to ring him back. Quite articulate, I must say-definitely a step above the usual callers we encounter. Upon returning home, I took the liberty of searching online and discovered who it was. To my surprise, there was also a missed call from them earlier today (Saturday).

Definitely Red Star, no doubt! I picked up my phone and the bloke asked for me by my name. I told him I wasn’t around - haha! Then he asked if I could get the person to ring him back. Sounded pretty polite and nothing like the usual lot who keep calling. Got back home, looked it up online and saw who it was, then noticed I missed another call from them today!

Got a call from 01183240550 right in the middle of my chemo sessions. Can't stand these annoying cold callers who ring at the worst times and wake me up. Do they not have any decency? Honestly, I wish their whole family, even their kids, had to suffer through this awful illness and be left lonely and abandoned.

Got a call from some Asian bloke about a "compensation claim" from Redstar. Never give it away if they mention your name. Told them "nah" and just ended the call and blocked the number.

I’m not sure if the call's coming from Reading in the UK or Reading over in the States. I’ve noticed some caller websites showing maps of both locations. Whatever you do, don’t share your name or address with these scoundrels. Best to just disconnect the call and add them to your block list.

I couldn't agree more with the previous comment regarding the chap named 'Carl' - he definitely had that Mancunian twang, even though the number was registered in Reading. It’s rather odd how he tossed my first name around, something that doesn't typically happen. The line quality was pretty dreadful, and he mentioned he was calling from Redstar to inquire about credit cards prior to 2009. I didn't hang about long on the call; it all felt rather dodgy if you ask me!

I received a call from a rather dodgy individual with an Asian accent who seemed to know both my name and address. They mentioned something about "compensation" which struck me as odd. They identified themselves as being from “Redstar” or something to that effect. I didn’t verify anything and simply replied with a “no” before hanging up and promptly blocking their number. What a nuisance!

Terrible call, some unclear American-sounding person said they verified who I was and asked about credit cards they reckoned someone else had used under my name since 2009. They mentioned MBA and Barclaycard, and when I told them I’d never had either, they just repeated it was about suspected fraud and suddenly said I wasn’t owed any repayment and wished me a nice day. That’s not how banks work from what I’ve experienced with fraud before, and if I never opened those accounts and they think someone else did, surely they should have kept investigating. Definitely a scam.

I received a phone call today on my mobile, purportedly from a company called RedStar based in Manchester, claiming to have some compensation lined up for me. Naturally, I didn’t bother to enquire further about what it was all about. They proceeded to ask for some personal information, but I interjected first. I pointed out that if their operation was indeed in Manchester, it was peculiar that the call was being made from a different area code altogether. They attempted to baffle me with some nonsense about using a calling number that would make it cheaper for me to ring back. I quickly dismissed that nonsense, clarifying that it was merely a standard area code-not some secret low-cost line-and that Reading was quite a distance from Manchester. He seemed utterly flummoxed by my response, and before long, the conversation fizzled out.
