Got a text from this number and it turned out to be my girlfriend using a messaging app cause she ran outta minutes and texts. At first, I didn’t realise who it was so I searched the number. If you get calls or msgs from it, it’s probably someone who actually knows you and has your digits. Could be scammers tho, but if the texts are kinda personal or weird stuff like asking what you’re wearing, that means the person texting is right there next to you.

Right, so I think I’ve cracked it. It’s basically one of those anonymous texting things where someone you know uses a website or something to send texts from your own number. I’m sure cos my ex has been messaging me with personal stuff even though I’ve blocked him everywhere. This must be his last way to get in touch. Every time I block one unknown number, another pops up. If you’re getting calls or texts like this, chances are it’s someone familiar. Just block it and move on.

Just like a few others here, he must’ve grabbed my contact from Autotrader. Said he would pay the full amount via PayPal, used the same old "I’m in the airforce, can’t call" excuse. I looked them up on Facebook using the number and email, and it showed a young woman. Really glad I looked this number up here first! I got a message asking if my car was still up for sale and if I could message back (email: [email protected][###]). After I sent the pics he said he was in the air force and no phone calls allowed. Claimed it was a surprise gift, said he'd pay by PayPal including all fees, then asked for my PayPal info and address. Said someone would come to pick up the car for him! I got a text from this number and another one +441412807229, both saying the same thing - 'Hi, please reply to my personal email ( [email protected][###] ) to check if your van is still available? I replied because I have a caravan listed for sale (on eBay and another site) and then got an email back claiming he was in the RAF and would arrange collection, agreeing to the price but never actually stating it!! Got a message from 01412807229 about my car advert on Gumtree. The person using jimmymorg43@outlook[###] said they wanted to pay with Paypal straight away without having a look at the car first. Be careful with this one.
