It cuts off as soon as I pick up the phone.

The person didn't give their name or press #, so Callguardian stopped them from calling me again.

Told some scammer chick I was with the police and she freaked out, said she dialled a police station by mistake and apologised loads. Then she said they’d delete the number. Best thing i did was just block them straight away. SCAMMERS, block em quick!

I didn't pick up, and there was no voicemail left. Still, seeing a Reading number made me suspicious since my Nectar points were just spent near Reading and Basingstoke, which is strange because I live nowhere near those places!

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming there’s some Government deal handing out free solar panels - yeah right, free! I pretended to be interested at first but then said something that clearly annoyed him, as he got really annoyed. I just chuckled and waited for him to hang up. Then I tried calling back and got a recorded message saying it was some Financial Welfare Group. Total con job, just trying to scam you out of cash. Don’t fall for it. BLOCKED for good.

The caller knew my name, which made me a bit uneasy at first. Then they began asking about some sort of damage to a rental home. We don't have any rental properties, so it was pretty clear straight away that it was just a scam.

I received a rather peculiar call from this number, claiming to be a housing association offering assistance with repairs and suggesting that my landlord would be compensating me for some issues. Things took a turn when they mentioned transferring me to a colleague, and I decided it was best to hang up. Not quite sure what to make of it all!

I received a rather dubious call this morning from what purported to be a white goods insurance firm. They claimed our policy was nearing its expiration and asked for my credit card details to facilitate an over-the-phone renewal, offering what they supposedly called a 30% discount. Certainly sounds like a scam to me!

When I asked who was on the line, they just wouldn’t say their name or the company they represented. They said something about my appliance cover needing renewal but gave no proper details. The firm I’ve dealt with before ALWAYS say who they are straight away, so this felt dodgy. I told them flat out I didn’t trust a word they said and to take me off their call list for good. I’ve also blocked the number now. Bet they’ll ring back soon using a different number though - sounds like they’re just swapping numbers about these days 🀬

Got a random call from some supposedly financial aid service. They were pushing financial help but it felt totally like an unwanted cold call.

When I questioned who was on the line, they refused to say their name or the company they were representing, just kept going on about my appliance cover being up for renewal. The firm I’ve dealt with before always state their name upfront, so it was clear to me this was dodgy. I made it very clear I wasn’t buying it and told them to take me off their call list and never ring me again. I’ve blocked the number now too! Bet they’ll try again with a different number, seems like cloning numbers is their new trick these days 🀬

Received a call supposedly about insurance for our household appliances. However, we don't actually have any policies like that in place.

This number has rung me 4 times in just one day but I’m not picking up until I find out who it is. Can someone shed some light on it?

I dunno who this could be cos I never pick up on numbers I don't recognise. If it were someone who really wanted to talk, they'd leave a voicemail, but nope, nothing at all!

I received a call regarding insurance for my appliances. I mentioned that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service and view this as an unwelcome and potentially fraudulent call. The lady on the other end seemed quite taken aback and rather on the defensive.
