I got a call from someone claiming to be O2, trying to get me to switch my plan. When I asked for proof that they were actually from O2, they started getting quite rude and pushy.

This number definitely phoned pretending to be from O2 customer service, just to be clear.

I received a call from someone with an Indian accent introducing himself as "David." He claimed to represent O2, yet he contacted me from a landline number that didn’t belong to O2 at all!

He attempted to entice me with a so-called "offer on an O2 contract," but the chap didn't seem to have a clue about my data usage, the specifics of my phone, or even the type of account I have. He proposed 5Gb of data alongside unlimited calls and texts for £17, which, incidentally, is actually more than my current tariff!

It was painfully obvious this was a scam. Every time I pointed out where he was mistaken, he just kept repeating, "OK, OK," completely ignoring my points and continuing to promote his 'deal.'

Loads of numbers seem to be linked to this place called Twilio. They ring but if you pick up, they just drop the call or don’t leave any message at all. If it was something legit, surely they’d say who they are, right? Now I don’t bother answering any unknown numbers and block anyone who doesn’t leave a voicemail, so I can choose whether to call back. I’m signed up with the TPS too, but it really doesn’t stop all these annoying spam and scam calls from coming through.
