Got a call from Jo again, spouting the same nonsense about my loft insulation being unsafe and not up to scratch. This time, they’ve added that it’s actually carcinogenic and needs checking. I had a nearly identical call a few hours earlier but from another number (01865638611). They clearly don’t bother with TPS rules. The quickest way to shut them down is to hit them with something off their script - they just hang up straight away!

Got a call from what sounded like a dodgy loft insulation scheme. The caller claimed they’d been sent by the government under some new plan to help upgrade homes to net zero standards, and all I had to do was pay a small fee. Found the whole thing a bit funny, so I decided to see how far they’d go. They asked for card details to confirm my ID and said there might be small transactions to check the card worked, plus a deposit upfront. I told them I don’t own a credit card and, surprise surprise, they hung up straight away. The bloke had a strong foreign accent and the call definitely sounded like it was coming through the internet. They’ve got gall, really.

I got a call from someone saying the British Lung Foundation found out my loft insulation might harm my lungs. They wanted to come round and check it out. It’s a dodgy scam, taking advantage of people who don’t know any better. Absolute rubbish!

Someone rang me up saying the British Lung Foundation had discovered that fibreglass and rockwool loft insulation were harmful to breathe in. They offered a free survey to check my loft at no charge. I declined and later checked the British Lung Foundation’s site, which denied making any claims like that. Definitely a scam call in my opinion.

I was on the phone for ages with nothing but silence, then suddenly some sort of automated message kicked in saying "Jo, an energy specialist in your region". Pretty obvious this is just a dodgy attempt to flog loft insulation, trying to get around the TPS rules. Some news show or maybe a current affairs programme ought to look into these calls. It probably wouldn't put an end to it, but at least it could warn more folks about what's going on.

Got a call from a lady saying she was from some energy firm that had just started serving our neighbourhood (yeah, right!). She never bothered to ask for me by name, just jumped straight in and asked if I was the homeowner. I told her he wasn’t around, and she just hung up instantly. Definitely a scam, real companies usually try to find out when someone’s coming back or something.
