For about a year and a half now, I've been getting calls from what sound like those same scammers using Twilio or Reading numbers. They say they're from some sort of "energy hub" representing a bunch of firms. Their spiel involves mentioning the British Lung Foundation, talking about insulation irritants, and offering a free loft inspection supposedly "following government guidelines." When I tried to get specifics - like exactly which energy hub or which companies - they just cut me off. I've recorded the call and reported it to actionfraud.police.uk as well as the British Heart Foundation.

Got three calls today from 0118 230 XXXX, but each time the last four digits changed. I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. They’re just wasting time or probably scammers. I’ve already reported the number to Action Fraud and blocked it straight away.

These people are totally untrustworthy scammers and really dangerous. They keep ringing you non-stop for ages trying to get details out of you. What's worse, they even want to come round to your place. They use some Twilio app that helps businesses - good or bad - create profiles on folks, likely to sell your info on. If they can’t show up in person, they push hard to get loads of data from you, even your voice. Seriously, don’t answer their calls unless you’re recording it for the cops.

Judging by what other folks are saying, it seems like a scam. They just cut off the call after maybe two or three rings. If you can, I’d say block the number.

It was pretty much the same as before, she kept talking about a free inspection and checking if I was interested, saying our loft work might not meet regulations. I stayed courteous but there were these awkward pauses where she said nothing for a bit. I just thanked her and hung up, she said goodbye nicely too.
